# After That It Gets Difficult After That It Gets Difficult, also known as Kangaroo Agrees With Man, is a four-panel image macro taken from the 2020 German comedy Die Känguru-Chroniken, in which a talking kangaroo and a man chat in a kitchen before their deal falls apart in the last frame. Redditor RobotfaceX turned the scene into a reusable template on r/HistoryMemes in January 2021, and within days other users were spreading Russian Revolution and Total War: Warhammer variants across r/MemeTemplatesOfficial and 9GAG. ## Origin The source clip comes from the trailer for Die Känguru-Chroniken, the 2020 film adaptation of Marc-Uwe Kling's novels, which was uploaded to YouTube in December 2019[1]. Redditor RobotfaceX made the first meme use of the kitchen exchange on January 3, 2021, posting a version to r/HistoryMemes about the Russian Revolution titled 'And the revolution came'[2]. That first post earned more than 40,100 upvotes and 540 comments over ten days, with several Reddit Awards attached[5]. - **Platform:** Reddit (r/HistoryMemes) - **Creator:** RobotfaceX (earliest known poster) - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview Each post typically leaves the original screenshots alone and adds an above caption naming the two sides, so the agreement in panels one through three sets up a punchline in the final panel where the kangaroo says the deal gets harder from there[2]. Other variants edit flags or faces onto the kangaroo and the man to recast the exchange, with the Imgur blank template circulating widely among meme makers[4]. Subjects include historical rivalries and video game faction debates, and the fourth beat lets posters land whichever specific disagreement they want to call out[5]. ## How to Use To make an After That It Gets Difficult meme, start with the four kitchen panels and add a caption above the image that names two groups or ideas. The first three beats show the kangaroo and the man agreeing on shared points, and the final panel delivers whatever sticking issue the poster wants to highlight. Edits often paste flags or faces onto the characters so the exchange reads as a stand-in for a specific debate[3]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is After That It Gets Difficult?
