# AGDQ Chair Sniffer
AGDQ Chair Sniffer, also known as AGDQ 2017 Seat Sniff, is a viral clip from the January 2017 Awesome Games Done Quick speedrunning marathon showing a male attendee rising after the woman beside him leaves and leaning down close to her empty seat in what viewers read as a sniff. Within days the footage traveled from a 4chan thread to Reddit's /r/Kappa board, then to eBaum's World and YouTube under the title 'AGDQ 2017 Chair Sniffer.' By July 2017, YouTube editors were cutting the footage to R. Kelly's 'Bump n' Grind' as the moment settled into Twitch speedrun inside-joke rotation.
## Origin
Awesome Games Done Quick is a biannual charity speedrunning marathon streamed live on Twitch. On January 10th, 2017, a 4chan /v/ user grabbed a short section of the live AGDQ broadcast where a male attendee stood up after the woman next to him walked off, then crouched low with his face near the seat she had just vacated[6]. That same day a gfycat user mirrored the clip and a Redditor cross-posted the GIF to /r/Kappa under the title 'Dude caught sniffing girls seat at AGDQ,' giving the moment its handle inside the Twitch speedrun fandom[2].

## Overview
Most posts of AGDQ Chair Sniffer stick with the raw clip and let the suggestion of what the man did carry the joke, often adding audio stingers or slow motion on the lean-down[1][2]. Reaction edits typically layer R. Kelly's 'Bump n' Grind' underneath the lean, so the line 'my mind's tellin' me no, but my body, my body's tellin' me yes' lands exactly as he dips[5].
Not everyone reads the clip the same way. A defender camp argues the man was reaching for a fallen bottle cap under the chair, pointing to the bottle visible in his hand when he stands and the grabbing motion his left arm makes during the alleged sniff[3]. Skeptics counter that he gets suspiciously close to the fabric and that staging a fall would be a convenient cover, and some ask why he never asked the woman to pick the item up herself, a point defenders chalk up to social awkwardness.
