# Another Day, Another Slay "Another Day, Another Slay" is a catchphrase from young dancer Ty the Dancer, who filmed herself twirling in outfits while delivering the line "Another day, another slay. Period pooh." After she posted the first clip to YouTube Shorts in May 2021, TikTok editors picked up her purple hoverboard version and green-screened her spin into microwaves, blenders and rotisserie skewers, turning the short into a go-to remix template through 2022. ## Origin Ty the Dancer, who posts under the handle tythedancer_, uploaded her first "Another Day, Another Slay" clip to YouTube Shorts on May 3, 2021[1]. The short pulled roughly 14 million views and 163,000 likes within 18 months of posting[5]. She kept the format running with follow-up shorts in June and July 2021, and on December 24, 2021 she posted the purple hoverboard version[2] that would carry the catchphrase into its biggest second life on TikTok. - **Platform:** YouTube Shorts (origin) / TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** Ty the Dancer (tythedancer_) - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview The core clip shows Ty the Dancer announcing "Another day, another slay. Period pooh," then doing a quick spin to show off her outfit[1]. Her phrasing stitches together two slang pillars: "slay," pulled from LGBTQ+ and ballroom speech, and "periodt," the emphatic sentence-ender used in girlboss and Black queer vernacular[5]. The purple hoverboard version from December 2021 is the one most editors reached for, since the tight rotating loop maps cleanly onto any spinning object[2]. Remixers split into two lanes. The first used Ty's upbeat energy against bleak captions, like @jinsfatcake pairing the clip with text about pretending to study while sketching cats on her phone[6]. The second lane green-screened her twirl into kitchen appliances and other rotating things, treating her spin as a reusable animation asset[8]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Another Day, Another Slay?
