# Cosmo Yelling Cosmo Yelling, also called His Name Is X, is an image macro built from a 2008 Fairly OddParents screenshot of Cosmo grabbing Timmy Turner by the collar. Twitter user @ShyGaifu kicked off the viral phrasing on April 8th, 2022, with a joke about Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series[2]. Within days, players were plugging in characters from Ace Attorney, Team Fortress 2 and Earthbound to riff on the same wrong-name correction gag[1]. ## Origin The screenshot comes from the Fairly OddParents episode "Fairly OddBaby," which aired on Nickelodeon on February 18th, 2008[3]. Tumblr users started circulating the frame as a reaction image as early as December 2021, and it saw more pickup on the platform in March 2022, though the first poster is not documented[1]. The caption format took shape on April 8th, 2022, when Twitter user @ShyGaifu posted the image with the text "'haha dame da ne guy' HIS NAME IS YAKUZA," a dig at people who know Kazuma Kiryu only through the Dame Da Ne meme rather than the Yakuza games[2]. The tweet pulled in more than 60,000 likes and 10,000 retweets inside five days[1]. - **Platform:** Tumblr (reaction image) / Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** @ShyGaifu (popularized the phrasal template) - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview Cosmo Yelling, also known as His Name Is X, pairs a screenshot of Cosmo lifting Timmy by the collar with a two-line caption that follows the format "I love that [nickname] guy / HIS NAME IS [franchise title]"[1]. The joke works by having Cosmo loudly "correct" someone with the wrong name, usually swapping in the title of the game or show the character comes from rather than the character's actual name. The source frame comes from the Fairly OddParents episode "Fairly OddBaby," where a pregnant Cosmo has a mood swing and grabs Timmy mid rant[1]. Posters favor video game and anime references, with punchlines that land because Cosmo's "fix" is just as wrong as the nickname being corrected. Earlier uses treated the still as a generic reaction image on Tumblr before the phrasal template locked the format in place[1]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Cosmo Yelling?
