# Fletcher Quimby Getting Interviewed Fletcher Quimby Getting Interviewed is a reaction image taken from a 2011 Fanlala.com interview with Jake Short, who played the character on Disney's A.N.T. Farm. The behind-the-scenes photo of Short in a school hallway with a microphone pointed at him sat quietly online until October 2022, when Twitter user @wengelll captioned it 'what the hell were they asking him' and gained around 121,000 likes. By mid-October 2022, Twitter users were pairing Short's blank stare with 'when a bad bitch asks me a question' captions. ## Origin Fanlala.com interviewed Jake Short in 2011 for a segment on A.N.T. Farm, which had begun airing on Disney Channel two months earlier[4]. The YouTube upload went live on July 14, 2011 and gathered roughly 35,200 views over the following decade[1]. Fanlala also published a behind-the-scenes still from the shoot, showing Short in the hallway set with the interviewer's microphone in frame, and cross-posted it to Pinterest[3]. Earliest meme use: TikToker @disgusted_fletcher posted an edit on May 15, 2020 that drew about 1,100 plays[6]. Earliest known Twitter use: @halleyscometrry attached the still to a Harry Styles joke on August 22, 2022, gaining over 210 likes within two months[7]. - **Platform:** Fanlala.com (source photo) / Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2011 ## Overview The still catches Jake Short mid-blink during a press day on the A.N.T. Farm school hallway set, with a journalist's hand and microphone cutting into the right side of the frame[3]. People attach captions about facing an awkward question, hearing a controversial take, or being asked something invasive, and his frozen expression does the comedic work[5]. Harry Styles jokes anchored the earliest Twitter runs[7], while bawdier variants like 'when a bad bitch asks me a question' showed up once the format spread beyond its first circle[11]. Thread versions also appeared, in which users stitched a sequence of Short's expressions from the full interview video to simulate shifting reactions to one off-camera prompt[12]. PopStar! magazine's own interview with Short, filmed around the same date with him in the same outfit, got confused for Fanlala's[2] and ended up supplying extra screenshot material once the format broke through on Twitter. ## How to Use Pair the still with a caption that names the kind of question or hot take that would stop someone cold, often as a reply or quote retweet to a bold claim[9]. Common setups include 'when [awkward situation],' 'me when [controversial opinion],' or confessional lines about receiving an invasive question. Thread variants use multiple interview screenshots in sequence to show escalating reactions to a single offscreen prompt[12]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Fletcher Quimby Getting Interviewed?
