# FlightReacts Tongue Out On April 23, 2024, TikToker @backboxed posted a still of YouTuber FlightReacts with his tongue out and glassy eyes, captioned 'How I stare at my son through his window after my wife kicked me out the house.' The clip collected over 6.1 million views in seven months, and by October X users were pasting Flight into Dragon Ball edits that cracked 70,000 likes in two days. ## Origin On April 23, 2024, TikToker @backboxed posted the earliest known version of the meme, a still of FlightReacts sticking his tongue out with the caption 'How I stare at my son through his window after my wife kicked me out the house'[1]. The post collected more than 6.1 million views in the seven months after it went up[5]. The underlying video that the still was taken from has not been publicly identified, so the frame itself was already orphaned from its source when the format took hold[5]. FlightReacts, a basketball and reaction YouTuber, did not create the meme; @backboxed built the first captioned version. - **Platform:** TikTok (origin) / Instagram and X (viral spread) - **Creator:** @backboxed (TikTok) - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview Posts in the format use the same cropped frame of streamer FlightReacts with his tongue extended and his eyes locked on the camera, placed under a 'How I stare at X' caption that users rewrite for each joke[1]. The custody-visitation line in the original gave the format a specifically off-putting tone, but later caption variants went lighter, such as 'How I stare at my friends when the hangout is so fun'[4]. By late summer 2024, the format moved past caption swaps into full photoshops that drop Flight's face into scenes from anime and other fandoms, including JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Dragon Ball[7][8]. The gag works because the stare looks equally blank, menacing, and lovesick depending on what caption or scene surrounds it, giving editors a flexible template to drop into almost any context[5]. ## How to Use Users typically take the cropped still of Flight with his tongue out and add a top caption that starts with 'How I stare at,' finishing the sentence with any oddly specific scenario. A common convention is pairing the stare with something that would normally call for a serious expression, like a custody dispute or a close friendship, so the vacant face reads as unhinged. Photoshop edits often insert Flight's head into a frame from a show or game instead of using plain text. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is FlightReacts Tongue Out?
