# George Jetson Is Almost Here George Jetson Is Almost Here refers to jokes about the Hanna-Barbera cartoon dad being conceived in real time, based on the premise that The Jetsons takes place in 2062 and George is 40 years old. Tumblr user itswalky kicked off the running bit in May 2021, and by November a @farfromallover tweet captioned 'Just a FYI, George Jetson is going to be conceived this weekend' turned the countdown to his 2022 birthday into a cross-platform ritual. ## Origin On May 23rd, 2021, Tumblr user itswalky wrote 'The Jetsons takes place in 2062, and George Jetson is 40 years old, which means that somewhere right now George Jetson is being conceived,' and the post gathered more than 100,000 notes over the following six months[1]. This was the earliest known viral post to work out the character's conception date instead of his birthday[6]. On June 13th a Facebook reshare of the itswalky line hit over 58,000 shares and 57,000 reactions on the Scifi Imaginarium page[5]. - **Platform:** Tumblr / Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** itswalky (Tumblr) - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview Posts in this format usually feature a screenshot of George Jetson's Wikipedia preview card, which lists his birth year as 2022, accompanied by a one-liner about his imminent arrival somewhere on Earth[1]. The gag runs on simple timeline math: the original cartoon aired in 1962 and set its story a century later, so a 40-year-old George would be born right around the time viewers hit 2022[6]. Tone sits between genuine affection for the Hanna-Barbera property and absurdist dread about a background cartoon character becoming a real human. Variations include fake baby announcements, mock sonograms, and horror-coded reposts captioned 'HE IS ALMOST HERE'[4]. Some posts debate the actual birthday, since August 27th appeared on Wikipedia at one point while Warner Bros Fandom lists July 31st[8]. ## How to Use A typical post screenshots George Jetson's Wikipedia preview with its 2022 birth year, then adds a short caption pretending the countdown is happening live. Common conventions include urgent 'HE IS ALMOST HERE' framing in horror style, mock pregnancy announcements, or deadpan statements like 'he will be conceived this weekend' timed to late November 2021 for an August 2022 birth[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is George Jetson Is Almost Here?
