# Grandma Taking Photo of Grandson In Bathroom Mirror
In late June 2024, a 19-year-old on r/LooksmaxingAdvice posted bathroom mirror shots his grandmother had taken while he flexed, and the picture hit X three weeks later with more than 11 million views[2]. Artists on X then began redrawing the awkward duo as anime, manga and video game characters, from Mortal Kombat matchups to SIGNALIS pilots[3][4]. By 2026, viewers connected the flexing teen to looksmaxxer Clavicular after his own fame spread online[3rd].
## Origin
On June 28th, 2024, Redditor Available_Moose_3472 posted two mirror photos to r/LooksmaxingAdvice captioned "Looking for advice. 19M." The images, taken by his grandmother while he flexed shirtless in the bathroom, picked up more than 1,500 upvotes and about 390 comments inside a month[1]. The young man in the frame is reportedly looksmaxxer Clavicular, an identification that was only widely made in 2026 after Clavicular himself went viral[3rd].
The photos circulated outside Reddit through screenshots rather than any single reupload by their original poster, and the meme format that followed grew on X instead of back on r/LooksmaxingAdvice[3rd].

## Overview
Grandma Taking Photo of Grandson In Bathroom Mirror is a redraw format sourced from a bathroom mirror snapshot in which an older woman cheerfully photographs a shirtless teen as he flexes his biceps[1]. Artists keep the exact composition, the grandma holding a phone up to the mirror, the grandson posing, and substitute the two figures with fictional characters whose dynamic matches the chipper-elder-and-eager-kid energy of the original[2].
Most entries lean on an inter-generational or mentor-and-protégé pairing from games, anime or comics, with the muscle flex sold as a sincere moment that the older character is proud to document[3]. Part of the comedy comes from the mundane bathroom staging being imported wholesale into fantasy or horror worlds, where a grim franchise suddenly reads as a family photo[4]. The format also carried a quieter second life after 2026, once viewers identified the original grandson as looksmaxxer Clavicular[3rd].
