# Green FN (Slang) Green FN is TikTok slang drawn from the NBA 2K basketball video games, where a green meter indicates a perfectly timed shot release[2]. The phrase, short for 'Green Fuck Nigga,' first appeared in February 2023 when TikToker @shaitard sarcastically applied it to a missed basketball attempt[1]. By late February 2024, abbreviated 'Green FN' captions were spamming reposted highlight edits from creator soufs_videos[4]. ## Origin The audio that started the slang came from TikTok user @braydentopg, whose sound clip features a voice declaring 'Green fuck nigga'[6]. On February 23, 2023, TikToker @shaitard overlaid that audio onto footage of a basketball player blowing a shot, using the NBA 2K perfect-release terminology as a sarcastic insult[1]. That post gathered more than 245,000 likes within its first year online[1]. - **Platform:** TikTok - **Creator:** @braydentopg (audio) and @shaitard (first viral post) - **Date:** 2023 ## Overview On TikTok, 'Green FN' functions in two modes: as a sarcastic jab aimed at players who flub easy buckets, and as sincere approval when someone hits a crossover or a deep three[1]. Users apply it either as a text overlay burned into a video or as a copy-paste reply in the comment section of basketball posts[6]. The green reference maps onto NBA 2K's release-timing system, where only button presses that land inside a roughly 15 to 20 millisecond window register as a perfect shot[2]. Variations stretched the joke beyond live basketball. One widely shared edit stuck the phrase over a cartoon still of Peter Griffin hooping, mocking Family Guy's stiff animation[3]. Fans also spammed 'Green fn' as a comment on nearly every clip by creator soufs_videos, regardless of what the video actually showed[4]. ## How to Use Typical posts place 'Green FN' as a text overlay on basketball footage or paste it as a reply beneath sports clips[6]. Creators often use the sincere version when highlighting a dunk, crossover, or deep three, and the ironic version when a player badly misses an open look[1]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Green FN (Slang)?
