# Gucci Morty

Gucci Morty is an edited image of Morty Smith from Rick and Morty, redrawn with short dark hair, skinny jeans and a Gucci T-shirt. The image took off in August 2026 through ironic aura posts, video edits and fan art on Instagram, TikTok and X.

## Origin
On August 16th, 2026, Instagram user blephin_ posted the earliest known Gucci Morty edit, showing Morty Smith in a Gucci shirt, skinny jeans and a short dark haircut. The post pulled in more than 100,000 likes over the next eight days and is credited as the first appearance of the character redesign[3].

The original artist behind the underlying edit is not publicly confirmed, so blephin_ is documented as the earliest known poster rather than the definitive creator. Within a day of that Instagram post, the image was already being reshared and reformatted on X and TikTok, kicking off the wider Gucci Morty run.

## Overview
Gucci Morty takes Morty Smith out of his usual yellow shirt and drops him into a Gucci tee, tight skinny jeans and a slick short dark haircut. The joke treats this restyled Morty as if he suddenly has immense aura, with captions and edits hyping him up in the exaggerated, ironic tone typical of aura and rizz posts[3].

The format shows up in a few recognizable flavors. Still image macros pair the edit with short reaction captions, video edits set the picture to music or ambient backdrops like fish tanks[1], and swipe reveal clips slowly uncover the full outfit for comedic effect[2]. Fan art, AI generated variants and spin off edits that put other Rick and Morty characters into matching Gucci fits round out the family of jokes[3].
