# Has Never Kissed Anyone Before In November 2023, X artist @EggyDaxy drew a two-panel kiss illustration labeling one character "hasn't kissed anyone ever" and the other "expecting tongue," sparking a ship-dynamic redraw template. Although the original post was deleted, redraws kept the format alive across X, Reddit, Tumblr and Instagram. By 2024, fandoms including Sonic, Genshin Impact, Pokemon, Blue Archive, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero had their own versions. ## Origin Has Never Kissed Anyone Before / Expecting Tongue was drawn by X artist @EggyDaxy on or just before November 19th, 2023. The original tweet was later deleted, but on November 21st, 2023, X user @BixelsWixels tweeted asking who had made "that art meme of 'never kissed before vs. expecting it with tongue,'" and @EggyDaxy replied the same day with "I MADE THAT hi…," reposting the drawing[5]. That repost picked up more than 14,000 likes over the following ten months[1]. Because the original post was gone, the earliest surviving copy was a redraw by X artist @artionfrievo, posted on November 19th, 2023, as a reply under @EggyDaxy's deleted tweet[6]. That reply drew more than 500 likes in roughly the same window[1]. - **Platform:** X / Twitter - **Creator:** @EggyDaxy - **Date:** 2023 ## Overview Has Never Kissed Anyone Before, also called Expecting Tongue or Hasn't Kissed Anyone Ever, is a two-panel ship-dynamic drawing in which one character leans in with closed, cautious lips while a partner leans forward with an open, tongue-first mouth. Panel labels do the comedic lifting, pinning one figure as "hasn't kissed anyone ever" and the other as "expecting tongue"[1]. The humor hinges on the sudden gap between the two expectations about what the kiss is going to be. Artists use the template as a redraw canvas for favorite ships, swapping the original figures for anime, game or cartoon pairings while keeping the pose and labels intact[2]. Common entries include Sonic and Shadow, Genshin Impact duos, Pokemon's Jessie and Delia Ketchum, and characters from Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero[3][4]. The format rewards tight character knowledge, since readers immediately map which half of the ship is the awkward first-timer and which is bringing full-contact enthusiasm. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Has Never Kissed Anyone Before?
