# How the Hell You Spell Chauffeur How the Hell You Spell Chauffeur, also known as Fancy Pants Rich McGee, is a viral X comment chain where one user asked how to spell "showfer" and clowned the person who correctly answered "chauffeur" by calling them a "fancy pants rich mcgee." A screenshot of the deleted exchange circulated starting October 2020[1], and by April 2024 a country-style AI cover by TikToker @chat.musicc had turned the lines into a lip dub sound logging over 74,000 uses in six weeks[6]. ## Origin iFunny user sniffpodmp4_2019 uploaded the earliest known screenshot of the deleted X exchange on October 20th, 2020[1]. The thread showed @DrowsyDeity asking about "showfer," the "chauffeur" correction from a stranger, the "fancy pants mcgee" clapback, @doesntpaytaxes chiming in with "spelling bee ass 😭," and DrowsyDeity closing with "He gon give me the definition next😭😭"[3]. That iFunny post sat with zero interactions for years while the screenshot recirculated elsewhere. - **Platform:** X / Twitter (origin), TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** @DrowsyDeity - **Date:** 2020 ## Overview The How the Hell You Spell Chauffeur format centers on a four-line screenshot. User @DrowsyDeity asks "How the hell you spell showfer," a stranger replies "chauffeur," DrowsyDeity fires back with "Ooooo fancy pants mcgee over here fucc you," and bystander @doesntpaytaxes adds "spelling bee ass 😭"[3]. The joke punishes the correct answer, flipping proper spelling into evidence of being a snobby rich person. Fandom edits assign each line to a character from an existing cast, usually casting the smartest or most pedantic member as the one who delivers "chauffeur"[2]. Later TikTok versions set the exchange to chat.musicc's country AI vocal and act out the lines as a lip dub instead of posting the screenshot itself[6]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is How the Hell You Spell Chauffeur?
