# I Better Keep My Ass In This Office

I Better Keep My Ass In This Office, also known as That Boy Zoro Can Cut Magma Now, started with a doctored One Piece panel posted to /r/OnePiecePowerScaling in September 2023 by u/Pale-Efficiency-1797, in which Admiral Akainu panics that swordsman Roronoa Zoro has learned to cut magma[1]. By late October, the format spawned Monster Hunter, Dark Souls, Five Nights at Freddy's and Chainsaw Man riffs across Reddit, Instagram and X.

## Origin
On September 6th, 2023, u/Pale-Efficiency-1797 posted the first known edit to /r/OnePiecePowerScaling under the title 'Forget Sabo vs Akainu,' in which Admiral Akainu's speech bubble read, 'That boy Zoro can cut magma now huh…. I better keep my ass in this office!!! or I'm FINISHED ‼️'[1] The thread collected over 260 upvotes in roughly two months[4].

The gag riffs on a running argument in One Piece power-scaling circles about whether Zoro, who sliced through the fire-dragon Kaido in the Wano arc, could survive the magma attacks that killed Portgas D. Ace. Five days later, the edit was reposted to /r/Piratefolk, where it drew over 180 upvotes[2].

## Overview
The joke in 'I Better Keep My Ass In This Office' relies on Akainu, One Piece's magma-wielding Marine admiral, admitting defeat in advance against a buffed-up Zoro. Original edits preserve the panel of Akainu staring at the sea and replace his speech bubble with the line, 'That boy Zoro can cut magma now huh…. I better keep my ass in this office!!! or I'm FINISHED ‼️'[1] Follow-up versions either substitute Akainu for other franchise authority figures or hold his face in place and insert a new rival into the dialogue[3].

A second variant abandons the Akainu panel entirely and reuses the phrasing alone as a catchphrase for any power-scaling matchup. X user @krembeni applied the line to Chainsaw Man's Kobeni learning Dance Dance Revolution[10], while Instagram remixes slotted bosses from Five Nights at Freddy's into the office chair[8]. The humor casts a cosmic-tier Marine admiral as a middle manager who would rather hide behind a desk than die to a buffed subordinate[4].

## How to Use
Posters typically open the format one of two ways: edit Akainu's existing speech bubble with a new matchup, or write the catchphrase from scratch and attach it to any character who just got a power upgrade. Common convention keeps the triple exclamation, the ellipsis after 'huh' and the ‼️ emoji intact so the voice reads as Akainu's.
