# I Just A Baby On February 22, 2022, TikToker @little.blooming.women posted a clip of her toddler Cosette shrugging off a behavior lesson with the line "I just a baby," and the audio tore across TikTok within weeks. By May 2022, more than 99,600 lip-dub videos used the sound, most of them pet owners mugging for the camera while their dog or cat "answered" with Cosette's excuse. ## Origin TikToker @little.blooming.women, a parenting account, uploaded the clip of her daughter Cosette, nicknamed CoCo, on February 22, 2022[2]. She tells the toddler, "When mommy says 'stop' you say 'okay,'" and Cosette answers "I just a baby," then doubles down when her mom insists on "Okay, mom"[6]. The post reached more than 82.4 million views within three months. Alongside the video view count, the attached audio became the real engine of the meme, picked up by creators who did not know the original family[6]. - **Platform:** TikTok - **Creator:** @little.blooming.women - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview The joke lives in Cosette's deadpan refusal to admit any accountability. In the 17-second clip, her mother coaches her, "When mommy says 'stop' you say 'okay,'" and the toddler flatly answers "I just a baby," repeating the line more firmly when her mom tries to correct her[2]. Viewers took the audio as a stand-in for anyone caught misbehaving who had a convenient excuse ready. Most lip-dub takes stuck to a simple setup: a pet or person is filmed doing something they shouldn't, the owner "asks" them to stop, and Cosette's voice fills in the response[6]. Dog owners made up the biggest share of the trend, though cat clips, sibling bits, and work-from-home jokes also used the sound[3]. The audio works because Cosette says the line twice, which gave editors a built-in beat for a reaction cut. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is I Just A Baby?
