# I'm Taking Bebop to the K-Pop Store Today I'm Taking Bebop to the K-Pop Store Today is a viral TikTok sound from January 2024 featuring a toddler named Bebop declaring her love for K-pop in a mushy, bubblegum-popping voice. The audio spread fast after an ENHYPEN edit used it, and by late January TikTokers were overlaying the clip onto videos about Dr. Pepper, lenient parents and K-pop idols[1][2]. ## Origin On January 7th, 2024, TikTok user @bebopandbebe posted a short video introducing her toddler Bebop before a trip to a local K-pop store, with Bebop replying, "I'm so happy. I love K-pop"[1]. The post gathered around 3.9 million plays and 404,400 likes within 19 days according to Know Your Meme[2]. The shop referenced in the clip is K-Pop Story, a merch store in the Atlanta area. @bebopandbebe is the account the toddler's mother runs; Bebop herself is the voice that drives the meme, so credit for the audio sits with the family duo rather than any editor[2]. - **Platform:** TikTok (origin) / TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** @bebopandbebe - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview The clip opens with a mother announcing a trip to K-Pop Story, a shop near Atlanta, Georgia, before her young daughter Bebop chimes in with the line that gave the meme its hook. Bebop pronounces "happy" as "happeh" and gives "K-pop" a cartoonish, bubblegum-popping smack, which is the part viewers quote and lip-sync[1]. Once the audio was isolated, TikTokers paired it with any subject their character could plausibly love: K-pop idols, soft drinks, mothers who had been nice that day. A typical post slaps the sound over a short clip of the thing being adored, often with on-screen text swapping "K-pop" for the new object of affection[2][3]. The joke works because Bebop's delivery sounds unhinged with earnestness, so the humor scales with how trivial the thing in the video is. ## How It Spread The audio broke containment on January 13th, 2024, when TikToker @jaeyun4me set it over footage of ENHYPEN members Jake and Heeseung. That edit pulled in about 1.3 million plays and 118,700 likes over the following 13 days, and it functioned as the proof-of-concept that the clip could soundtrack a fancam[3]. A day later, on January 14th, @jhopes._.bestie2 posted the first known lip-dub of Bebop's line, which hit roughly 2.3 million plays and 267,900 likes[4]. On January 23rd, @nava.aaron reused the audio to declare love for Dr. Pepper and gathered about 3.2 million plays and 580,800 likes in three days, showing the sound was no longer tied to K-pop content[5]. The biggest early hit came on January 25th from @quetza11i, whose video about her mom not yelling at her all day gained around 4.4 million plays and 998,100 likes in a single day[6]. By January 26th, the primary sound page tied to the trend had logged more than 19,500 uses according to Know Your Meme[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is I'm Taking Bebop to the K-Pop Store Today?
