# Katt Williams Shannon Sharpe Interview In early January 2024, comedian Katt Williams sat down with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast for a nearly three-hour interview where he called out Steve Harvey, Michael Blackson, Cedric the Entertainer and others by name. Within 24 hours the YouTube upload passed five million views, and by January 4 TikTok was flooded with green-screen edits using Katt's incredulous facial expressions as reaction templates. ## Origin The episode was uploaded to the Club Shay Shay YouTube channel on January 3, 2024, running nearly three hours and billed as a career-spanning conversation[1]. It passed five million views and 275,000 likes inside the first day, with the channel's own TikTok account cutting shorts from the same recording[5]. The first widely shared pull came that same day, when Huff Post deputy editor Philip Lewis posted a clip to X of Katt mocking Michael Blackson for using a "fake African accent," which drew more than 3.6 million views and a direct reply from Blackson's account within hours[2]. - **Platform:** YouTube (Club Shay Shay) / TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** Shannon Sharpe (Club Shay Shay) - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview Titled "Katt Williams Unleashed," the sitdown covered the Kings of Comedy tour, Katt's early stand-up battles and his claims about why certain peers quit comedy[1]. Rather than one punchline going viral, the interview broke apart into dozens of clip-sized moments, each targeting a specific famous name and each spreading on its own clock across YouTube, TikTok and X[2]. The meme side of the interview took two forms. Direct clips, usually 30 to 90 seconds, were lifted straight from the podcast and reposted with on-screen captions pointing at the comedian being discussed, such as Steve Harvey or Michael Blackson[3]. Alongside those, TikTok creators used green-screen edits of Katt's deadpan reactions and Sharpe's wide-eyed listening face as reaction templates for unrelated workplace or relationship jokes[4]. ## How It Spread By the afternoon of January 3, the Steve Harvey portion of the interview became the dominant pull. TikToker @emjunair uploaded an edit of Katt describing how Harvey left stand-up for daytime television, which drew around 337,000 likes and 5,800 comments inside a day[3]. Hours later, @blee2g posted a companion edit that spliced the podcast audio with archival footage of Katt mocking Harvey on stage years earlier, reaching roughly 17,800 likes in 18 hours[7]. On January 4, the format widened from direct clips into reaction and template memes. TikToker @pagan1992 used a green-screen of the interview to caption a joke about an employee talking to their boss, picking up more than 3,000 likes in eight hours[4]. On X that same day, @LowkeyBrilliant pulled a Friday After Next clip to react to watching the podcast and got around 131,000 views and 3,400 likes in six hours[6]. Aggregator accounts kept the clips moving for days afterward. Podcast highlight accounts such as @hiphoppods and @trapnyctv re-uploaded moments to TikTok, and Marcellus Buckley's account posted a lengthier compilation of the Harvey beef, keeping the interview in rotation past the initial 24-hour window[8]. ## How to Use The green-screen format typically places a Katt Williams reaction shot behind a short caption framing a mundane situation, such as an employee hearing bad news from a boss, with the comedian's expression doing the punchline[4]. Reaction posts often pair a Katt clip with footage of the viewer, as in Twitter user @LowkeyBrilliant's post splicing a Friday After Next scene with the podcast audio[6]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Katt Williams Shannon Sharpe Interview?
