# Khia Asylum Khia Asylum is a stan Twitter joke that files washed-up or forgotten pop singers into a fictional institution named after American rapper Khia, used by fan accounts to brand artists as 'nobodies.' X user @impxrfectforyou coined the phrase on May 2, 2024, in an image sorting pop stars with Charli XCX, Zara Larsson, Bebe Rexha and Ava Max dumped at the bottom. By November 2024, fandoms were posting mock visitation videos to check on acts like Lorde and Ariana Grande. ## Origin On May 2, 2024, X user @impxrfectforyou posted a composite image containing handwritten notes about female pop singers including Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Adele, Lady Gaga and Doja Cat[1]. At the bottom of the image, under the title 'Kya Asylum,' an alternate spelling, the creator placed photos of Charli XCX, Zara Larsson, Bebe Rexha and Ava Max to mark them as the sorted-out flop tier[1]. The original post sat quietly for months, reaching about 8,600 views and 100 likes by late 2024[3]. The 'Khia' spelling took over as the joke moved beyond the originating thread. - **Platform:** X / Twitter (stan Twitter) - **Creator:** @impxrfectforyou - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview Posts in the format sort female pop acts into tiers of relevance, with the asylum ward reserved for singers fans consider commercially washed, stuck in a flop era, or simply forgotten[1]. Charli XCX, Zara Larsson, Bebe Rexha and Ava Max appeared in the earliest version, though the joke quickly turned on bigger acts whenever rival fandoms clashed[3]. Rapper Khia functions as the ward's patron: her name stands in for a career so quiet it registers as 'nobody.' A typical Khia Asylum post includes the phrase alongside a video or screenshot of a targeted artist, cast as a visit, intake, release or extended stay[2]. Tone ranges from petty shade to full melodrama, with accounts using the asylum as a running bit where chart performance decides who gets checked in next[4]. ## How to Use A standard Khia Asylum post typically combines the phrase with a clip of the targeted singer and a caption using asylum terminology such as 'visitation,' 'intake,' 'release' or 'majestic stay.' Common conventions include biweekly check-ins on dormant stars and claims that a rival's career slump qualifies them for permanent residency[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Khia Asylum?
