# Look, Pim, I Know It's Our Job Look, Pim, I Know It's Our Job is an exploitable screencap from the pilot of Adult Swim's Smiling Friends, where Charlie whispers to his coworker Pim that their suicidal client is 'a lost cause.' After Twitter user @Cybershell cut transparent PNG templates of the two in mid-January 2022, remixers inserted Spamton G. Spamton, Joker and Nikocado Avocado into the scene within days. ## Origin Smiling Friends premiered its first season on Adult Swim on January 10th, 2022[2]. In the pilot, Charlie and Pim are hired to cheer up a depressed man named Desmond, and midway through the visit Charlie calls Desmond 'a lost cause'[3]. On January 15th, Twitter user @Cybershell posted the earliest known edit, a Tails Gets Trolled crossover that received more than 10,700 likes within four days[1]. @Cybershell uploaded two transparent PNG templates of Charlie and Pim later in the same thread[10]. - **Platform:** Adult Swim (source), Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** @Cybershell (first meme edit and PNG templates) - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview The exploit uses layered PNGs of Charlie and Pim with the full line, 'Look, Pim, I know it's our job to help this guy and everything, but he's a lost cause.' Posters place the duo in front of a character they want to roast as unsalvageable, with Pim's cheerful stance and Charlie's resigned posture doing the comedic work[1]. Common targets are public figures or fictional characters already seen as past saving, from doomed YouTubers[4] to characters with self-destructive arcs[5]. Video versions keep Zach Hadel's muttered delivery from the pilot and composite Charlie and Pim over a new image, often using Conkface's green screen export of the exchange[9]. The joke works because Charlie's dismissal sounds unusually resigned for a cartoon about professional cheerers-up, so inserting an inappropriate 'lost cause' reads as both callous and accurate[3]. ## How to Use Common edits layer @Cybershell's transparent PNGs of Charlie and Pim over an image of the target character, with the original caption kept intact[10]. Video versions often use Conkface's green screen file, which keeps the muttered line and lets editors replace just the background[9]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Look, Pim, I Know It's Our Job?
