# Major Bag Alert Major Bag Alert is a sound snippet from a 2017 DJ Khaled and Migos track that TikTok users turned into an audio meme in early 2022. The Migos line "Bag alert, major bag alert" first found wider ears through a 2021 Wendy's Biggie Bag commercial, then went viral on TikTok after a January 30, 2022 video about NBA player Damian Lillard. By February 2022, verified creators including Jojo Siwa were layering the audio over clips of their own ironic hustles. ## Origin On June 23, 2017, DJ Khaled released "Major Bag Alert" featuring Atlanta rap group Migos as part of his album Grateful, with the official audio uploaded to YouTube that same day[1]. The Migos chorus, "Bag alert, major bag alert," sat quiet as a meme source for almost four years until Wendy's reused it as the jingle for its five-dollar Biggie Bag promotion. That commercial interrupted in-universe billboards and TV broadcasts with a pop-up "Bag Alert" callout set to the Migos line and was uploaded to YouTube on March 20, 2021 by the robercik101 channel[2]. The meme format itself emerged later. Catalyst audio: June 23, 2017 song release[1]. Earliest known meme usage: March 18, 2021 Reddit post referencing the Wendy's jingle[5]. TikTok format breakout: January 30, 2022, when creator @damickey.lillard set the Migos verse over a joke about Damian Lillard's career[3]. - **Platform:** YouTube (song) / TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2017 ## Overview On TikTok, the Migos clip plays under footage of a person doing something that can be ironically marked as cashing in, with the "Major!" ad-lib timed to a punchline frame[4]. Posts often target stereotypes where a middleman profits off a cliché behavior, from athletes stretching a career to influencers monetizing drama. Clips tend to run 3 to 10 seconds and treat the audio as a quick reaction stamp. Many popular uses lean self-deprecating or mock-brag, with creators pretending a tiny or absurd gain qualifies for the alert[7]. On-screen text usually names the "bag" being secured, which lets the sound carry a punchline that the visual alone would not sell. The humor hinges on calling out a hustle so obvious it deserves a jingle. ## How to Use Creators typically overlay the Migos "Bag alert, major bag alert" clip onto short videos showing an ironic hustle, with on-screen text naming the specific bag the subject is securing. Common conventions include timing the "Major!" shout to the reveal frame and leaning into self-mockery about how shameless the payout is. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Major Bag Alert?
