# Me Everytime After The Lobotomy
Me Everytime After The Lobotomy is a video exploitable that started on Reddit's r/okbuddyretard in November 2021, pairing a clip of Bart Simpson from a 2004 pitch demo bumping into walls with flashing subliminal imagery. By 2023, the format fused with Hood Irony on TikTok to spawn the Hood Lobotomy subgenre and its own hashtag.
## Origin
On November 9, 2021, Redditor Jacooo2019 posted the first known version of the video to r/okbuddyretard with the caption "me everytime after the lobotomy 🤦🏾♂️😂:"[3]. The clip pulled from a 2004 pitch demo video for The Simpsons Game, showing Bart running into walls while filters warped the footage and Abbey Road flashed on screen[2]. The post sat at roughly 3,100 upvotes before moderators eventually took it down[1].
The source footage itself predates the meme by almost two decades. The pitch demo had been uploaded publicly to YouTube, giving editors an obscure, slightly uncanny asset to repurpose for a video that would eventually get stripped, reskinned, and relabeled countless times[2].

## Overview
Me Everytime After The Lobotomy is built around a top caption, usually written with a facepalm emoji and crying-laughing emoji, slapped over a disorienting video clip edited to feel like forced schizo imagery[1]. The original template showed Bart Simpson wandering a 3D environment and smacking into walls, with the footage ripped from a 2004 pitch demo for what later shipped as The Simpsons Game in 2007[2]. Editors stacked the clip with embossed filters, color inversions, flashes of The Beatles' Abbey Road cover, and jarring sound effects to simulate the aftermath of an imagined lobotomy[1].
As the template got passed around, creators kept the top caption fixed and swapped in different cursed subjects, from anime characters to creepy Caillou edits[1]. The joke works because the caption frames whatever absurd, incoherent footage follows as a self-deprecating confession, where the poster plays up noncoherent avant-garde chaos as proof their brain is cooked.
