# Moo Moo Meadows Cow The Moo Moo Meadows Cow is a smiling, nose-ringed bovine NPC from the Mario Kart Wii course of the same name, fixated on by fans for its goofy, unbothered expression. Jokes about the cow took off on TikTok and X between 2021 and 2024, and Nintendo acknowledged the fandom in April 2025 by putting the cow on a motorcycle in the Mario Kart World reveal trailer. ## Origin Mario Kart Wii launched on April 10, 2008, with Moo Moo Meadows as one of its early courses[4]. The track features a herd of smiling cows that walk across the raceway as moving obstacles, a callback to the Moo Moo Farm course from the Nintendo 64 original. The cow design is Nintendo's; no single fan is credited with the meme format itself, which built up slowly through shared screenshots before any one viral post took hold. The earliest documented meme focused on the cows is a short cut by YouTuber VerdiChris titled 'Moo Moo Meadows in Real Life,' posted on August 26, 2014[3]. It splices gameplay of a kart plowing into a cow with real footage of a cyclist flipping over an actual cow in the road, and sat around 25,000 views over the following decade. - **Platform:** Mario Kart Wii (source) / TikTok and X (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2008 ## Overview The cow was a minor course hazard in a 2008 Mario Kart Wii track, trotting across the raceway to knock karts around[4]. What stuck with fans was its face: wide eyes, a toothy smile, and a brass ring through its nose. Across the 2010s and 2020s, the same screenshot kept showing up in reaction posts on TikTok and X, usually captioned to make the cow a stand-in for calm detachment or chronically-online humor[1]. Most Moo Moo Meadows Cow memes stick to a few setups. Some pair the cow's smile with captions about staying unbothered through chaos. Others cast it as a 'comfort character' for people who grew up with the Wii, often set next to jokes about beef, burgers, or dark fates[7]. The track itself was ported into Mario Kart 8 on Wii U and Switch, which kept the character in rotation long after the 2008 release[4]. ## How to Use The typical format is a screenshot of the cow or the Moo Moo Meadows title card, paired with a caption that either plays up the cow's chill vibe or inverts it with something grim. A common convention is to frame the cow as a 'comfort character' or neutral observer reacting to the poster's situation, from mental health to dating life to identity. Dark edits that threaten or deface the cow often get traction as a shock inversion of the wholesome setup[7]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Moo Moo Meadows Cow?
