# Planetina Planetina is the eco-superhero parody of Captain Planet introduced in the Rick and Morty episode 'A Rickconvenient Mort,' which aired on Adult Swim on July 4th, 2021. Voiced by Alison Brie, she drew a flood of fan art and rule 34 posts across Twitter, Instagram and DeviantArt within days of the episode, including an animated tribute that hit 35,000 views in a day by July 12th. ## Origin Planetina first appeared in 'A Rickconvenient Mort,' season five episode three of Rick and Morty, which aired on Adult Swim on July 4th, 2021[4]. The episode's cold open, introducing her as an environmental superhero summoned by four elemental rings held by the 'Tina-teers,' was posted to the Adult Swim YouTube channel on July 3rd and pulled more than three million views in its first week[1]. In the episode, Morty begins dating Planetina after she defeats an alien in front of him, then kills her abusive Tina-teers so she can be free. Freed, she turns to eco-terrorism, including a mine demolition that kills at least 300 people, and the two break up at the end of the half hour[4]. - **Platform:** Adult Swim / Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview Across Twitter, Instagram and DeviantArt, artists leaned into Planetina's design and her short-lived romance with Morty, posting both wholesome fan art and heavy rule 34 content within days of the episode airing[2]. Illustrator @sheepiu's Twitter doodles of the character became one of the circulated early examples on the platform[3], while DeviantArt pieces such as @sonson-sensei's July 2021 portrait caught similar traction[5]. The humor often plays on the ethical mess of the episode itself: Morty's rescue of Planetina by killing the Tina-teers, her slide into eco-terrorism after destroying a mine with workers inside, and the breakup that caps the half hour[4]. Edits range from static illustrations to short animated music videos set to clips of Morty and Planetina together, with the cold open where she summons her elemental powers used as a frequent source frame[1]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Planetina?
