# Poor Ronaldo Girl Poor Ronaldo Girl, also known as Moroccan Ronaldo Girl, is a viral TikTok video from December 2022 in which a young Moroccan fan at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar mocks Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal's quarterfinal loss to Morocco[1]. Within two days, pro-Ronaldo revenge edits took over TikTok, including one from @true.zelyy that hit 14.4 million plays by showing Ronaldo kicking the girl's head like a soccer ball[2]. ## Origin On December 11th, 2022, the TikTok account @goalglobal published an interview compilation with Moroccan fans celebrating their quarterfinal upset of Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar[1]. In the segment, a girl in a red Morocco jersey tells the camera crew that Ronaldo is crying and points him toward the airport. The TikTok drew roughly 4.5 million plays and 300,500 likes within two days before its original sound was taken down from the platform, while the same clip reposted to goalglobal's Instagram page gathered about 172,500 likes over the same window[4]. - **Platform:** TikTok (origin and viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown (interview filmed by TikTok account @goalglobal) - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview In the clip, filmed by the goalglobal crew outside a stadium in Qatar, a child in a red Morocco shirt tells the camera that Ronaldo is crying and that "Portugal airport is that way"[1]. Her sarcastic send-off, delivered on the back of Morocco's underdog run, gave Cristiano Ronaldo's online fan base a target and set off a counter-genre of revenge edits[3]. Follow-up videos split into two directions. Pro-Ronaldo "sigma male" edits turned the girl into a comic antagonist, often cutting to Kylian Mbappé or other French players defeating Morocco in the next round[3]. A separate stream of darker edits imagined Ronaldo himself exacting revenge, with one 14.4-million-view TikTok splicing a shot of him kicking the girl's head onto a pitch[2]. ## How to Use Edits typically open with the goalglobal interview of the girl saying "poor Ronaldo" and gesturing toward the airport, then cut to footage of Ronaldo scoring or French players defeating Morocco in the semifinal to flip the joke back on her[5]. A common convention is to layer the cut over "sigma male" or Phonk audio to sell Ronaldo as the stoic victor[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Poor Ronaldo Girl?
