# Pretty Glonky "Pretty Glonky" is the punchline from a June 2019 man-on-the-street interview where YouTuber Benedict Polizzi asked an obviously stoned stranger how he was feeling, and the stranger invented a word on the spot. After two quiet years on YouTube, Polizzi reposted the clip to TikTok in May 2021, where it passed 21 million views and turned "glonky" into TikTok slang for being so high you can barely talk. ## Origin Benedict Polizzi uploaded "best interview ever" to YouTube on June 1, 2019, an outtake from a longer street-interview bit where he asks strangers to finish song lyrics[1]. The subject wears a beanie, has squinty eyes and is already laughing when the camera arrives. Polizzi asks how he's doing, the man answers "I'm pretty glonky," Polizzi replies "Say what?" and the man walks it back to "I'm fine" before mumbling off[1]. The full "finish the lyrics" version went up the next day on the same channel[4]. Over the next two years, the outtake reached more than 2.2 million views on YouTube[3]. - **Platform:** YouTube / TikTok (viral spread) - **Creator:** Benedict Polizzi (interviewer); the unnamed interviewee coined the word - **Date:** 2019 ## Overview In the clip, a laughing man in a beanie with glassy eyes answers "I'm pretty glonky," catches himself, and corrects to "I'm fine" before trailing into a mumble[1]. Interviewer Benedict Polizzi laughs along and tries to get him to finish song lyrics, which the man cannot do[4]. On TikTok, the audio worked as a mood caption, a stitch reply to "how are you," and a one-word description of being blazed. Fans animated the interviewee's face, strung his portrait inside handmade lockets, and used "glonky" as a stage of highness past regular stoned[5][6]. ## How to Use Users typically use "pretty glonky" as a reply when someone asks how they're feeling, a caption for being too high to function, or a stitch reaction layered over the original interview audio on TikTok[2]. Common convention on TikTok is to pair the quote with glassy-eyed selfies or driving-home clips. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Pretty Glonky?
