# Saw Con Saw Con is a bait-and-switch joke where someone casually mentions attending a fake convention called 'Saw Con,' hoping a curious reader will ask about it so they can fire back 'saw condeez nuts,' which sounds like 'suck on these nuts' said aloud. The gag spread on Twitter and Twitch in July 2018 alongside the Ligma trend, and by October 2019 a Reddit screenshot of the joke used mid-text-thread hit over 83,000 upvotes on r/dankmemes[8]. ## Origin The earliest known Saw Con tweet appeared on Twitter on June 17, 2018, posted in reply to a Ligma joke[1]. Know Your Meme attributes the post to user @Rhymestle and notes the format likely circulated offline or in private chats before that date[4]. Saw Con shares its 'ask-the-question, deliver-the-pun' template with Ligma, so the format rode in on Ligma's slipstream from the first documented receipt. - **Platform:** Twitter (origin) / Reddit (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2018 ## Overview Posts following the Saw Con pattern lean on a strict two-beat structure. The setup is a casual question like 'you going to Saw Con?' or 'ever been to SawCon?' and the payoff arrives once the target asks what Saw Con is, letting the original poster deliver 'saw condeez nuts' or a longer variant like 'SAW CON MY BALLS'[9]. Writers often fold the setup into longer dialogue or screenshots so the trap feels natural instead of telegraphed. The joke sits inside the wider Ligma family of 2018 bait-and-switch gags, and Reddit's r/Ligma listed Sawcon and Saw-Con alongside other variants on its masterpost[5]. Spellings swap freely between 'Saw Con,' 'Sawcon,' and 'Saw-Con.' Two viral Reddit posts both relied on screenshots capturing the back-and-forth from a different medium, one from YouTube comments[7] and another from a text message thread[8]. ## How to Use Writers typically plant the Saw Con reference in casual conversation, often name-dropping it as a convention they attended or are planning to attend. Once the target asks what Saw Con is, the setup is complete, and the response 'saw condeez nuts' or a longer riff like 'SAW CON MY DICK' lands the pun[9]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Saw Con?
