# Scott Pilgrim Yuri Scott Pilgrim Yuri, also known as Ramona and Roxie Kiss, refers to a brief kiss between Ramona Flowers and Roxie Richter in the Netflix animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, which went viral on X on November 17, 2023 after user @pinknishii posted the scene with a shocked caption[1]. Within two days, redraws like a Gotham City Sirens version[2] and gag edits splicing the kiss into Five Nights at Freddy's scenes[3] spread across Tumblr and X. ## Origin On November 17, 2023, X user @pinknishii posted a clip of the kiss from Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Netflix's then-recent anime adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comics[1]. The caption 'SCOTT PILGRIM YURI???? HUH? WHAT THIS SCENE HELLO???' drew more than 13.9 million views and 62,000 likes in the first three days[5]. Netflix released the series globally the same day, so the clip was circulating within hours of the show going live. Replies and quote retweets piled on quickly, with viewers zooming in on specific details of the kiss[6]. - **Platform:** Netflix (source scene) / X (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown (Netflix animated the scene; X user @pinknishii posted the earliest viral clip) - **Date:** 2023 ## Overview The clip itself lasts only a few seconds. Ramona kisses her evil ex Roxie, both pause, and agree the kiss did not feel right[1]. Fans fixated on the brief moment and labeled it 'yuri', the Japanese term for lesbian-themed manga and anime, a fit that lined up with the show's new anime art style[5]. Typical posts fall into two shapes. One is a repost or GIF of the kiss with a flustered caption like @pinknishii's 'SCOTT PILGRIM YURI???? HUH? WHAT THIS SCENE HELLO???'[1]. The other is a redraw or crossover edit, with the kiss restaged as Boykisser[4] or as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy from DC's Gotham City Sirens[2]. ## How to Use Common conventions include posting the kiss clip or a GIF of it with a shocked caption, redrawing the scene with another famous female duo in their place (Gotham City Sirens being an early example[2]), or cutting the kiss into an unrelated gag scene like Five Nights at Freddy's[3]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Scott Pilgrim Yuri?
