# Sharon's Burnt Marie Callender Pie On November 25, 2021, Facebook user Sharon Weiss posted a photo of a Marie Callender's pumpkin pie she had baked into a charred black disc, blaming the company for ruining her Thanksgiving. Commenters piled on, and by December 1 a 'Marie Callender's Sharon Pie Roasting Posting' Facebook group had drawn over 27,000 members alongside an Imgur compilation that cleared 142,000 views in two days. ## Origin Weiss posted the photo to Marie Callender's official Facebook page on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021, with the caption 'Thanks Marie Calendar for ruining thanksgiving dessert'[1]. Marie Callender's packaged pumpkin pie is sold frozen with directions to bake at 375 degrees for 70 to 80 minutes, and how Weiss's dessert reached a near-charcoal state from those instructions was never explained[1]. A company spokesperson replied with a short apology on the thread, but other commenters quickly turned the post into an argument that Weiss had overcooked the pie herself; the original post was later deleted, though screenshots had already circulated off-platform[3]. - **Platform:** Facebook (origin post) / Imgur, Facebook group (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview Jokes in Sharon's Burnt Marie Callender Pie posts work two angles, the degree of carbonization and Weiss's refusal to accept the oven played any part[1]. Edited product listings, pie-as-tire photoshops and captions written in Weiss's voice doubling down on the blame are the common formats[2]. The pie at the center is a round object so black it reads as a vinyl record or a tire, resting in its white foil Marie Callender's tin[1]. Weiss's misspelling of the brand as 'Marie Calendar' and the company's polite PR reply became running jokes of their own, with fans quoting the apology back as a model customer service response[1]. Sharon's Burnt Marie Callender Pie posts stay closer to friendly ribbing than pure cruelty, which is part of why the Facebook roast group gathered members well past the initial Thanksgiving news cycle[3]. ## How to Use Posts typically pair the charred pie photo with text written in Weiss's voice, blaming the brand for the burn, or edit the pie into mock product listings, car tires and vinyl records. Common conventions include before/after image pairs, fake 1-star reviews signed in Weiss's name, and comment screenshots from the original Facebook thread repackaged with new captions[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Sharon's Burnt Marie Callender Pie?
