# Skips Sitting Next To Graves Skips Sitting Next To Graves, also known as The Price of Immortality, is an object labeling meme based on fan art of the Regular Show character Skips, an immortal yeti, sitting beside the graves of his four mortal friends. Reddit users turned the 2015 fan comic into a meme in July 2019, and by April 2020 variants were earning 56,000 upvotes on r/BikiniBottomTwitter. ## Origin Webcomic artist Irwincardozo Comics drew the original image, titled 'An Immortal Price,' and posted it to Facebook on May 25, 2015. The post collected over 49,000 likes, 28,000 shares and 3,800 comments [1]. Skips never visits any such grave scene in the actual Cartoon Network series; the artwork is pure fan art playing on the fact that he's the only immortal character in Regular Show [7]. The image sat for roughly four years before Redditor Yandamenr turned it into a meme on July 18, 2019, posting a version to r/PewdiepieSubmissions where it earned over 35,000 upvotes and 324 comments [2]. - **Platform:** Facebook (source art) / Reddit (viral spread) - **Creator:** Irwincardozo Comics - **Date:** 2015 ## Overview Posts take the four mortal Regular Show characters in the top panel and label them with things destined to end: discontinued products, canceled shows, defunct websites, dead franchises. Skips in the bottom panel gets labeled with whatever outlasted them all, from a long-running game series to an aging online service [3]. The joke lands as a bittersweet gag about survival and nostalgia, with the labeled subjects often being staples that watched their rivals fade away [4]. Many variants use pop culture rivalries, like consoles, superheroes, or anime franchises, with one surviving example in the Skips slot [5]. A JoJo's Bizarre Adventure version posted to r/ShitPostCrusaders in May 2020 showed the format moving into dedicated fandom subs, where the mortal characters stood in for dead party members and Skips held the character still alive [6]. ## How to Use Users typically label the top panel's four Regular Show characters with items, products, or media now gone, and the bottom panel Skips with whatever outlasted them. Common conventions include labeling the top row with old competitors, canceled series, or rival franchises, so the punchline is the viewer realizing only the Skips-labeled subject is still around [3]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Skips Sitting Next To Graves?
