# Snowbunny Mind Control Snowbunny Mind Control is a catchphrase and reaction image taken from a May 2024 YouTube video thumbnail by saintlysilas, which argued white women steer underground hip-hop by amplifying rappers on TikTok. By December 2024, X users were slapping the image onto posts about Arcane's Jinx and Marvel Rivals heroes to tease men for liking games and shows with attractive white female characters. ## Origin Snow bunny, the slang underlying the catchphrase, has referred to a white woman with a preference for Black men since the late 2010s, with an older sense describing women fond of skiing[2]. On May 29, 2024, YouTuber saintlysilas uploaded "White Girls Control Underground Music," arguing that white women drive underground hip-hop virality by featuring rappers in their TikToks and that artists had started catering to them[1]. The video's thumbnail paired a young white woman with rapper Lazer Dim 700 mid-nose-pick and introduced the "Snowbunny Mind Control" caption that later became the standalone catchphrase[4]. saintlysilas created the artwork; it took another month before anyone used the thumbnail as a reaction image outside of the hip-hop discussion that spawned it. - **Platform:** YouTube (thumbnail) / X (viral spread) - **Creator:** saintlysilas - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview Each post wraps the saintlysilas thumbnail, a split photo of a young white woman next to rapper Lazer Dim 700 picking his nose with the words "Snowbunny Mind Control" stamped across it, around whatever target the poster wants to tease[1]. The joke casts Black men, and men generally, as powerless against a white woman's charm, so users attach the image to anyone caught praising a show, song or video game that features an attractive white female character[4]. Common targets include the gacha title Zenless Zone Zero, Arcane's Jinx, and Marvel Rivals characters Squirrel Girl and Luna Snow[7][9]. Users also riff on the catchphrase itself, with the hashtag #BewitchedByTheBunny appearing on X when a poster calls out a friend for falling under the spell of a white female character[8]. ## How It Spread Instagram page xboxheadset reposted the thumbnail on June 2, 2024, where it drew over 2,300 likes[3]. The next day, Redditor TroncoBoy brought the image to r/Hiphopcirclejerk[5], and later that day the X gimmick account @YtThumbnails reposted it, earning over 2,000 likes and 150 reposts within six months[6]. Reaction-image usage took hold on July 4, 2024, when @Ukagaka_Tengu posted the thumbnail replying to someone praising the gacha game Zenless Zone Zero, implying the reviewer was really there for its attractive white female characters; that post climbed past 24,000 likes[7]. On July 23, @ATLienMJ captioned a repost "Just saw one of my mutuals become #BewitchedByTheBunny," cementing the hashtag variant[8]. In December 2024, the format surged again around the second season of Arcane, in which Black character Ekko is drawn to Jinx, and the launch of hero shooter Marvel Rivals with Squirrel Girl and Luna Snow on its roster[4]. On December 9, @DatChaosGuy posted about "Jinx and Squirrel Girl brainrot" with the image, drawing over 14,000 likes within three weeks[9]. ## How to Use To use the format, post the thumbnail (or the phrase alone) in reply to someone praising a piece of media that stars an attractive white woman, implying that is the actual reason they like it. The hashtag #BewitchedByTheBunny is a common variant when teasing a friend or mutual[8]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Snowbunny Mind Control?
