# Sugoi Dekai Sugoi Dekai is a Japanese phrase meaning "so big" that became associated with Uzaki Hana, a short, busty character from the anime Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! who wears a T-shirt printed with the words. After the series premiered in July 2020, Twitter artists started drawing other well-endowed anime characters in the same shirt, and by mid-August 2020 the trend had collided with redesign discourse that produced its own parody redraws. ## Origin The Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! manga by Take debuted on Niconico in December 2017 and began serialization on July 9, 2018[4]. Uzaki Hana wears her distinctive shirt on the cover of the first volume, and the character design carried over when Kadokawa announced the Studio ENGI anime adaptation on February 3, 2020. The anime premiered that July, and the shirt started appearing on other anime characters in fan art almost immediately, with @toneeartwork's Fate Grand Order piece hitting Twitter on July 9, 2020[1]. - **Platform:** Uzaki-chan manga / Twitter (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2020 ## Overview Posts in the trend usually show a female anime character wearing the Sugoi Dekai shirt, with proportions exaggerated to match the Mega Milk template that preceded it[1]. Many examples place the shirt-wearing character next to a smaller-chested one for contrast, as in @toneeartwork's July 9th Fate Grand Order drawing of Mordred alongside Artoria[1]. Because the Japanese phrase literally translates to "so big," the shirt reads as on-the-nose character commentary[4]. A second strand of Sugoi Dekai runs in the opposite direction. In early August 2020, Twitter users unhappy with Uzaki's design posted redrawings that aged her up or minimized her chest[3], and compilation threads like @ZeroT_H's gathered over 22,000 likes within a day[5]. Fans of the original character responded with mocking redraws, including @Trashqueen_01's Big Mouth-style Uzaki[6] and @DShnack's drawing of Peter Griffin wearing the shirt[7]. ## How to Use To make a Sugoi Dekai edit, artists typically pick an anime, VTuber or video game character with large breasts and draw them in Uzaki Hana's white tank top with the pink "スゴイでカぃ" print. A common convention is to place the subject beside a flat-chested character from the same series for visual contrast. Parody variants often substitute a character who clearly does not fit the joke, such as Peter Griffin[7], and lean on the shirt alone to carry the gag. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Sugoi Dekai?
