# Tesla Roadster Flip Tesla Roadster Flip, also known as Flying Tesla Car, refers to the viral October 15th, 2026 unveiling stunt where the second-generation Roadster used SpaceX cold-gas thrusters to kickflip in mid-air at a Texas test site[1]. Clips of the car hovering and jumping over a line of Teslas drew tens of millions of views across X and TikTok within days[2]. By late October 2026, TikTok creators were staging skits where the Roadster flips off ramps or soars over traffic[3]. ## Origin Catalyst event: On October 15th, 2026, Tesla livestreamed the Roadster unveiling from SpaceX's McGregor, Texas, test facility[1]. The demonstration included an uncrewed car running upside-down along a curved ramp using a suction system, a mid-air kickflip powered by cold-gas thrusters, and a jump over a lineup of parked Teslas[7]. Earliest known meme: Tesla's own @Tesla account seeded the format the same day with two clips captioned "Do a kickflip!"[2] and "Real life, baby,"[3] which collected roughly 28.1 million and 98.2 million views respectively within eleven days. The official YouTube upload of the full demonstration crossed 3.3 million views over the same stretch[7]. TikTok edits began appearing within 24 hours, starting with a reaction from @w_0235 on October 16th joking about a depressed passenger flipping the car on the drive home[4]. - **Platform:** YouTube / X (viral spread on TikTok) - **Creator:** Tesla (official unveiling); meme edits by various TikTok users - **Date:** 2026 ## Overview Tesla Roadster Flip, also called the Tesla Thrust Roadster or Tesla Rocket Roadster, is the shorthand for a package of stunts shown at the second-generation Roadster reveal in McGregor, Texas[1]. The headline move is the mid-air kickflip, powered by cold-gas thrusters derived from SpaceX hardware, which Tesla's X account captioned with the plain command, "Do a kickflip!"[2]. A separate clip of the car driving upside-down along a curved ramp using suction, captioned "Real life, baby," ran alongside it and pulled in even larger numbers[3]. Meme reactions split cleanly into two camps. Hype edits treat the Roadster as a video-game vehicle made real, with Rocket League comparisons showing up repeatedly in TikTok duets[4]. Skeptical posts mock the thrusters as a gimmick or a crash hazard, often using older meme templates like Toy Story's "falling with style" to call the flight fake[5]. A third strain stages short skits, often with the Roadster appearing in traffic or in dramatic action-movie settings[6]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Tesla Roadster Flip?
