# This Sleepy Jerry Meme Has Completely Taken Over the Internet This Sleepy Jerry Meme Has Completely Taken Over the Internet is a reaction image pulled from a June 2026 Instagram carousel by user memegod that claimed the AI-generated Sleepy Jerry meme had overtaken the web. Skeptics who had never seen the original turned the opening slide into its own joke, flipping the claim into shorthand for calling out forced memes. ## Origin The Sleepy Jerry image surfaced on May 8, 2026, when the Who Cares? Facebook page posted an image macro reading 'When I find a perfect old series with 6 seasons and 16+ episodes each' over an AI-generated picture of Jerry awake in bed with his phone[2]. The post picked up over 4,400 likes and 500 shares across the following months[3]. The Avryanna Burch Facebook page ran the same template on June 8 with a near-identical caption about discovering an older series[4]. The specific 'taken over the internet' line appeared on June 22, 2026, when Instagram user memegod published a carousel of Sleepy Jerry memes that opened with the slide 'This "Sleepy Jerry" meme has completely taken over the internet'[1]. That opening slide got screenshotted and shared on its own, with viewers who had never seen the earlier Jerry edits questioning whether the format was popular at all[3]. - **Platform:** Facebook (Sleepy Jerry image) / Instagram (viral reaction slide) - **Creator:** Unknown (reaction-image slide posted by Instagram user memegod) - **Date:** 2026 ## Overview The post that reads 'This "Sleepy Jerry" meme has completely taken over the internet' got lifted from the opening slide of an Instagram carousel and recycled as a reaction image on its own[1]. People who had never heard of Sleepy Jerry pushed back on the headline-style claim, treating it as proof that someone was trying to force a meme into existence[3]. The underlying Sleepy Jerry image is an AI render of Jerry the mouse from Tom and Jerry lying in bed scrolling his phone with heavy eyes[2]. Captions on the earlier Sleepy Jerry versions tend to describe binge-watching an old show at night or refusing to go to sleep[4]. The spinoff reaction image keeps the same character but swaps every caption for the memegod screenshot, giving posters a quick way to call something a forced meme without typing a word themselves[7]. ## How to Use People typically drop the memegod screenshot as a reply or quote-post whenever a viral claim feels inflated, especially around AI-generated characters or trends they have never heard of before[1]. The common convention is to leave the screenshot uncropped, keeping memegod's handle visible so the joke reads as a direct screenshot rather than a new edit[9]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is This Sleepy Jerry Meme Has Completely Taken Over the Internet?
