In the scene, Bruno Bucciarati tells the gang that Polpo's hidden fortune is up for grabs, and Mista's inner monologue reacts with the now-meme'd line[1]. The earliest documented macro went up the next day, November 3rd, 2018, when Reddit user Based_Peppa_Pig posted the captioned image to r/ShitPostCrusaders under the title "When something takes a sudden turn for the awesome"[3]. The post pulled in over 690 upvotes across the following six months[3]. The original uploader was the first known distributor rather than a confirmed creator of the caption itself. - **Platform:** JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime (source) / Reddit (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown (earliest known poster: Reddit user Based_Peppa_Pig) - **Date:** 2018 ## Overview This Took a Sudden Turn for the Awesome is a reaction macro built from a single screencap of Guido Mista, a main character in the fifth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, with the title line pasted over the frame in white block text[1]. Mista's wide-eyed, slightly surprised face sells the gag, since the quote is his internal reaction to learning the gang's job is actually a treasure hunt[1]. Users slap the macro onto any situation that pivots from mundane to great without warning, from mid-game plot twists to real-life surprises. In some edits it gets stacked on top of a second Mista macro reading "This Really Sucks," producing a two-panel Drakeposting style setup where the awesome panel wins out[2]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is This Took a Sudden Turn for the Awesome?
