# Thrembo Thrembo, written as Ϫ, is a slang term for a fictional integer that 4chan users insist exists between 6 and 7. The bit started on the /qa/ board on August 11, 2021 with an ironic post warning readers to "take your meds" about believing in the number[1]. By December 2021, Instagram meme page mememonk_ had reposted a pill-time edit about thrembo that drew roughly 33,700 likes[7]. ## Origin An anonymous user posted to 4chan's /qa/ board on August 11, 2021 with an image of a red-faced "I ♥ Science" Soyjak and the text, "There is NO number between six and seven called 'thrembo.' Thrembo does not exist. Take your meds"[1]. Replies from other anons called thrembo believers schizos as the thread filled with ironic takes[1]. The joke may riff on "Derf," the imaginary number between 5 and 6 that Carly invents in the iCarly episode "iTwins" to prank her math tutee Chuck[3]. - **Platform:** 4chan /qa/ (origin), iFunny / Instagram (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2021 ## Overview Posts about thrembo play out as a mock conspiracy where believers claim scientists are suppressing a forbidden digit between 6 and 7, flipping the "take your meds" schizoposting line back on skeptics[1]. Urban Dictionary users define it as "an unknown integer between 6 and 7, often touted online as a forgotten/forbidden number," and list Ϫ as its symbol[9]. The letters ჭ and ∃ also show up in posts, though Ϫ is the one most readers see. Variants spawned a small vocabulary around the joke. 4chan posters coined "thrembologist" and "thrembonites" in November 2021, echoing the Wumbo bit from SpongeBob SquarePants[3]. Common formats include an angry red-faced "I ♥ Science" Soyjak defending mathematics, pill-time edits where the viewer must swallow the truth about Ϫ, and greentext screenshots recapping the "does it exist" argument[4]. ## How to Use Thrembo posts typically take one of two angles. One side writes as true believers who claim Ϫ is a forbidden digit scientists suppress, often with pill-time or forgotten-knowledge visuals[6]. The other side plays the angry "I ♥ Science" Soyjak who tells believers to take their meds[1]. Variant words like "thrembologist" and "thrembonites" fit into bits where posters claim expertise or membership in a cult around the number[3]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Thrembo?
