# Tiny Rabbit Is Obsessed With Giant Girlfriend Lilly, a 16-pound Flemish giant rabbit, and her 4-pound boyfriend Romeo became internet favorites after The Dodo profiled them in February 2019 under the headline "Tiny Rabbit Is Obsessed With Giant Girlfriend Who's 4 Times His Size"[1]. Screenshots spread across Reddit the same week, inspiring anthropomorphic fan art and format edits on subs like r/okbuddyretard and r/ShitPostCrusaders[3]. ## Origin On February 8th, 2019, The Dodo published a profile of the Covelli family's two rabbits under the headline "Tiny Rabbit Is Obsessed With Giant Girlfriend Who's 4 Times His Size"[1]. Lilly Sunshine, a 3-year-old Flemish giant, weighed 16 pounds, while her companion Romeo weighed 4 pounds. Owner Sarah Covelli called Romeo "tiny husbun" and told the site he followed Lilly everywhere because "he knows she'll protect him"[1]. Within a week the article reached Reddit. On February 14th, 2019, a screenshot was posted to r/Rabbits[2], and a second post with different photos went up on r/wholesomememes the same day with over 2,100 upvotes[3]. Know Your Meme lists these as the earliest known reposts of the article[4]. - **Platform:** The Dodo (article) / Reddit (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2019 ## Overview Posts usually share the full article screenshot or just the headline paired with photos of the real rabbits snuggling. Tiny Rabbit Is Obsessed With Giant Girlfriend works because of the extreme size difference, since Lilly is roughly four times Romeo's weight, and the pet-column phrasing ("tiny husbun," "giant girlfriend") reads as absurd when applied to anything else[1]. Reddit users mostly repost the screenshot as a wholesome find[3]. Fan artists go further. The X drawing by @AWDtwit from February 2019 shows the pair as a tiny man and a huge woman[5], a template later remixed into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure scenes on r/ShitPostCrusaders[8] and into shitposts on r/okbuddyretard[7]. Each redraw keeps the small-boyfriend-and-big-girlfriend proportion while placing it in a new fandom. ## How to Use Common conventions include posting the article screenshot straight for a wholesome reaction, drawing the pair as a human couple with the same size gap, or editing Romeo and Lilly into existing fandom scenes (JoJo, anime, superhero media). The joke typically turns on the comic exaggeration of Lilly's size next to Romeo, matched to the sincere "boyfriend/girlfriend" framing of the original headline. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Tiny Rabbit Is Obsessed With Giant Girlfriend?
