# TMFINR TMFINR, short for "That Motherfucker Is Not Real," came from a July 3rd, 2023 TikTok of an American Airlines passenger insisting a fellow flyer was fake and demanding to leave the plane[1]. Within a week, Twitter users compressed her outburst into the acronym and attached it to politicians, athletes, and reptilian conspiracy jokes, with a manga-style redraw of the woman going viral by July 10th[4]. ## Origin On July 3rd, 2023, TikToker @knuckelslawncare uploaded a clip of a visibly panicked woman walking up the aisle of an American Airlines flight, shouting that another passenger "back there" was not real and that everyone else could stay on the plane "and die with them." Views passed 14 million and likes passed 1.2 million within three days[1]. An earlier upload by user @texasarkansan was deleted before the clip went viral[3]. Twitter user @DrFrensor began reusing the woman's exact wording within days of the TikTok going viral, mocking Joe Biden[6] and later Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot[9]. On July 9th, 2023, the same account posted the first known use of the acronym "TMFINR," calling NBA commissioner Adam Silver fake. That post gained six retweets and about 50 likes over the next two days[2]. - **Platform:** TikTok (source clip) / Twitter (acronym and viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown (acronym first posted by @DrFrensor on Twitter; source TikTok uploaded by @knuckelslawncare) - **Date:** 2023 ## Overview Posts using TMFINR usually attach the acronym to a photo of a public figure, with the joke sitting between sincere reptilian or body-double conspiracy claims and ironic trolling of either[3]. The most reused visual is a manga-style redraw of the plane passenger wearing a TMFINR t-shirt, which @AlphaFox78 posted on July 10th, 2023[4]. The underlying illustration had been drawn a day earlier by @ateenyalien without the acronym[5]. Variations include fake Magic: The Gathering cards and 9/11 denial edits using that same artwork[8][7]. Tone depends on who is posting. Conspiracy-leaning accounts use it to flag celebrities and politicians they consider impostors or clones; ironic accounts attach it to any public figure for absurdist effect, with no literal belief behind the claim. That original airline clip gets reposted whenever a political figure trends on Twitter, functioning as its own reaction video. ## How to Use A typical TMFINR post attaches the four-letter acronym to a photo of a politician, athlete, or celebrity the poster wants to flag as inhuman, a clone, or body-doubled. Common convention includes the @AlphaFox78 manga-style illustration of the airline passenger in a TMFINR t-shirt as a stamp or caption on the image[4]. Ironic use often skips any serious conspiracy framing and just slaps the acronym under a photo for absurdist effect. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is TMFINR?
