# Torture Dance Torture Dance is a scene from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind where three mafia members break into a hip hop dance while torturing a decapitated head. The sequence first appeared in the 1995 manga but exploded online after the anime adaptation aired in November 2018, spawning hundreds of music swap edits and real-life recreations. ## Origin The scene was first drawn by Hirohiko Araki in chapter 462 of the Vento Aureo manga, published in 1995, in which Narancia, Mista, and Fugo stick fish hooks through Zucchero's eyelid and dance to a hip hop song playing on a radio[3]. The sequence sat as a cult-favorite manga moment for over two decades before being animated. YouTube music swaps of the manga panels appeared years before the anime adaptation. On October 30th, 2016, YouTuber LordGriddlez uploaded an edit of the cropped manga characters dancing to "You reposted in the wrong neighbourhood" by ＳＨＯＫＫ青, which passed 800,000 views[1]. Around the same time, user Noza Joza paired footage from the video game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven with Nujabes' "World End Rhapsody"[4], while user Pivot's own "wrong neighbourhood" edit from January 18th, 2017 cleared 1.5 million views[5]. - **Platform:** Manga (1995) / YouTube (viral spread) - **Creator:** Hirohiko Araki (original scene); Unknown (meme edits) - **Date:** 2018 ## Overview Torture Dance refers to a sequence from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind in which gang members Narancia, Mista, and Fugo break into a synchronized hip hop dance while torturing the detached head of the enemy Zucchero.
