# TV On HDMI 2 With Nothing Plugged In A TikTok joke format that turned a mundane TV input setting into a smoking gun for infidelity, where arriving at a hookup's place and finding the screen on HDMI 2 with no console attached implies a previous guest. Starting with an August 2023 clip by @sunnystoktik, the bit spread through TikTok and reached Instagram and X image macro versions by early 2024[1][3]. ## Origin On August 23rd, 2023, TikToker @sunnystoktik posted the earliest known version of the joke, filming a shocked expression with the caption "When u walk into the bi curious girl's apartment and there are backwood guts in the ashtray and her TV is on HDMI 2." The clip used the "Someone Cooked Here" audio and passed 600,000 views over six months[1][6]. The caption framed the HDMI 2 setting as proof that a prior guest had hooked up a console, played, then unplugged it before leaving, with no other explanation for why the TV would be on an empty input[6]. - **Platform:** TikTok - **Creator:** @sunnystoktik - **Date:** 2023 ## Overview TV On HDMI 2 With Nothing Plugged In is a joke built around a specific piece of circumstantial evidence: a TV left on HDMI 2 when nothing is in that port means a visitor plugged a gaming console in and took it with them when they left[1]. The implication, usually applied to a hookup's apartment, is that someone else was over recently. Clips in the format are typically shot by the arriving guest in first person, with text overlay describing the suspicious scene they walked into[2]. Most videos pair a shocked or deadpan reaction shot with a caption listing giveaways, with the TV input being the punchline. The original clip used the "Someone Cooked Here" audio, and later videos stuck to similar reaction formats across TikTok, Instagram and X[1][5]. Variations swap the gender of the partner, the specific apartment details or the console in question, but the HDMI 2 detail stays the fixed element the joke hinges on[3][4]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is TV On HDMI 2 With Nothing Plugged In?
