# Wait, They Don't Love You Like I Love You "Wait, They Don't Love You Like I Love You" refers to a bridge lyric from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' song "Maps"[1], which anchored two viral TikTok dance routines in September 2024. Choreography by @southernbellesuzie and @user_18373563848 took off within days of posting, spawning copycat uploads and compilation posts across the app by late September 2024[3]. ## Origin Yeah Yeah Yeahs released "Maps" on their 2003 album "Fever to Tell," and in 2024 TikTok editors looped a sped-up remix centered on the song's bridge lyric[1]. The dance trend began on September 14, 2024, when @southernbellesuzie posted a bathroom clip performing a two-finger bouncing routine to that remix[2]. Her video drew more than 6.3 million plays and 1.2 million likes within its first 12 days[3]. Five days later, on September 19, 2024, @user_18373563848 uploaded an alternate choreography set to the same TikTok sound, centered on hip movement and a stop hand gesture aimed at the camera[4]. That clip reached roughly 2.6 million plays and 599,600 likes in its first week[3]. - **Platform:** TikTok - **Creator:** @southernbellesuzie and @user_18373563848 - **Date:** 2024 ## Overview Both dance trends center on a sped-up remix of "Maps" that hits the "wait, they don't love you like I love you" bridge as the emotional peak of the loop[1]. @southernbellesuzie's choreography has the dancer bouncing low on each beat with two pointed fingers that alternate sides, almost always filmed vertically in a mirror or bathroom[2]. The second routine, from @user_18373563848, replaces the pointing with side-to-side hip shakes, two hip hits, and a flat palm "stop" gesture aimed straight at the camera[4]. Most posts in the trend run 10 to 20 seconds and loop cleanly on the sound page. Captions span sincere lip-sync homages to "Maps" and self-aware jokes about the song eating creators' For You pages[8]. By late September 2024, many creators also stitched the two choreographies back-to-back or mashed them into compilation edits[3]. ## How to Use Creators typically open the TikTok camera, set it to the sped-up "Maps" sound, and perform one of the two origin routines. For @southernbellesuzie's version, dancers bounce low on each beat while alternating two pointed fingers side to side, usually in front of a bathroom mirror[2]. For @user_18373563848's version, dancers shake their hips side to side, hit their hips twice, then face the camera with a flat palm "stop" gesture[4]. Some creators film both back-to-back or stitch clips of other dancers into a compilation with a reaction caption[8]. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Wait, They Don't Love You Like I Love You?
