# Worse Than Cheating Worse Than Cheating, also known as Did You Sleep With Him Or Just Kiss Him, is a September 2022 TikTok trend where creators list petty acts they consider more offensive than romantic infidelity, set to a dramatic audio clip from the Amazon Prime series Modern Love. By late September 2022, participating videos on the sound had crossed millions of plays as users swapped punchlines like back-tickling a stranger or watching a favorite movie without their partner. ## Origin The audio comes from Season 1, Episode 2 of Amazon Prime's Modern Love, released October 18th, 2019, in which Joshua (Dev Patel) demands Emma (Caitlin McGee) tell him whether she slept with another man or only kissed him[3]. A reupload of the scene circulated on YouTube before TikTok creators picked it up. On September 11th, 2022, TikToker @aaliyah.gregoryxx posted an early video pairing the clip with a petty-betrayal punchline, pulling over 300,000 plays within ten days[1]. The same day, @qwixtee uploaded a version that drew more than 1.3 million plays and a quarter-million likes over the next week and a half, which gave the sound its first real traction[2]. - **Platform:** TikTok (audio sourced from Amazon Prime's Modern Love) - **Creator:** Unknown (earliest known posters: @aaliyah.gregoryxx and @qwixtee) - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview Worse Than Cheating, also known as Did You Sleep With Him Or Just Kiss Him, pairs a frantic Dev Patel line reading with a bait-and-switch punchline. Creators cue up the clip with on-screen text asking what the worst thing a partner could do to them would be, then reveal a tiny or absurd offense instead of actual infidelity[1]. Common answers include giving someone else back tickles, running errands together, or watching a favorite movie without them[3]. The humor sits in the mismatch between Joshua's gut-wrenching confrontation and the pettiness of the imagined betrayal. The audio does the heavy lifting, so most entries stick to lip-sync or straight-to-camera reactions with text overlays, keeping the format low-effort and easy to copy. Some creators flip the joke by picking offenses that genuinely feel worse to them personally, like a partner buying a drink for a friend of the opposite sex[2]. ## How to Use Creators typically lip-sync or play the Modern Love audio over a static shot of themselves while on-screen text reveals the "crime." The common convention is to set up a serious tone and swap in a minor or ridiculous offense, though some posts play the choice straight to vent about a real pet peeve. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Worse Than Cheating?
