# Yo, Fryman! Yo, Fryman! is a photoshop exploitable built from a plain outline drawing of Carl Brutananadilewski, the mustachioed neighbor from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The template surfaced on 4chan's /a/ board in July 2010 and spent the next four years bouncing between imageboards, forums and Tumblr as users recolored Carl's silhouette to resemble every fictional character they could think of. ## Origin The template is sourced from the pilot episode "Rabbot," Carl's first on-screen appearance when Aqua Teen Hunger Force premiered on Adult Swim on December 30th, 2000[2]. A decade later, on July 7th, 2010, an anonymous user posted the blank outline to the /a/ (anime and manga) board on 4chan with the request to "make this anime," which became the seed of the meme[4]. The "Yo, Fryman!" name stuck as follow-up threads kept reusing it, a nod to Carl's standard greeting toward Frylock on the show[3]. - **Platform:** 4chan /a/ (origin) / FunnyJunk, Tumblr (viral spread) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2010 ## Overview Yo, Fryman! works off a stripped-down black-and-white contour of Carl Brutananadilewski, the slouching middle-aged neighbor from Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Edits keep Carl's silhouette and posture intact while repainting the inside of the outline to turn him into another recognizable character, from Link to anime protagonists to video game bosses[3]. The title riffs on how Carl greets Frylock, the floating box of fries who lives next door, in the series[3]. Threads collecting the edits typically carried joke titles like "Carl's Friggin' Edit Thread" or "Friggin' Carlize It!" that borrowed Carl's Jersey accent[1]. The humor leans on the mismatch between Carl's grimy, hunched frame and whatever glamorous or cute character has been painted over it. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### What is Yo, Fryman!?
