# You Big Into Peaky Blinders You Big Into Peaky Blinders, also known as Don't Even Joke Lad, is an exploitable image macro that sets an Instagram Story question about the BBC crime drama against a dead-serious reply photo of a Peaky Blinders character captioned 'don't even joke lad.' The 'don't even joke lad' photo first surfaced on iFunny in September 2022, and a screenshot combining it with the Instagram prompt appeared on Facebook in April 2023. By 2024, X users were replacing 'Peaky Blinders' with topics like vampirism and OC x canon shipping. ## Origin The 'don't even joke lad' half of the format appeared first. On September 2nd, 2022, iFunny user thicclord1_2020 uploaded an image macro of a Peaky Blinders character under that caption, picking up only around four smiles over two years[1]. The combined two-panel version, matching an Instagram Story question with the stern-faced reply, surfaced seven months later. On April 11th, 2023, Facebook user Difficulty Online posted the screenshot in which someone answers 'don't even joke lad' to the question 'you big into Peaky Blinders?' with roughly 50 reactions over the following year[2]. - **Platform:** iFunny / Facebook (viral spread on X) - **Creator:** Unknown - **Date:** 2022 ## Overview Posts in this format recreate a two-panel Instagram Story screenshot. Someone sends the question sticker 'you big into Peaky Blinders?' and the reply is a solemn close-up still of a character from the show alongside the text 'don't even joke lad,' as if any mention of the series touches a nerve. The straight-faced delivery is the whole joke, staging a popular TV show as a sacred subject[2]. Edits replace the show title with anything the poster wants to be comically devoted to. @dilftaro's February 2024 version used 'oc x canon' shipping between fandom characters[6], and @kobratwink87 later ran the same template with 'vampirism'[7]. The reply photo usually stays the same stern Peaky Blinders character, which keeps the setup familiar while the subject rotates. ## How to Use Making your own version typically starts with the two-panel Instagram Story screenshot layout. The top panel keeps the question sticker format with 'you big into [subject]?' and the bottom panel places the stern Peaky Blinders reply photo under 'don't even joke lad.' Common replacements put a hobby, fandom, or lifestyle the poster wants to pretend they take extremely seriously, as seen in versions about shipping tropes[6] and vampirism[7]. ## References 1.
