# Your Politics Bore Me

Your Politics Bore Me joins a Thanos line from Guardians of the Galaxy with a photo of a boy sitting atop stacked Pepsi cases like a makeshift throne. Redditor Romulus-Sensei combined the two pieces on /r/PoliticalCompassMemes in October 2020[2], and within days a reusable blank version appeared on Tumblr so posters could caption their own trivial complaints[4].

## Origin
Thanos delivers the line in Guardians of the Galaxy, released on April 1, 2014, while sitting on a stone throne in gold armor. A clip of the scene went up on YouTube on May 14, 2015, and collected around 34,000 views over six years[3]. Marvel wrote the dialogue, but the Your Politics Bore Me image macro did not exist until years later, when fans welded the still frame of the quote to a wholly unrelated photo.

That second ingredient landed on February 21, 2020, when Redditor xertoten posted the photo of a boy perched on stacked Pepsi cases to r/Bossfight under the title "Diabeto, The unmovable"[1]. The submission gathered about 130 upvotes before moderators removed it, but copies kept circulating as a reaction image for anything the poster wanted to appear immune to.

## Overview
Your Politics Bore Me posts stack two layers: a Thanos quote sitting at the top as dismissal copy, with the Pepsi-boxed child beneath it as a bored little monarch. Caption versions replace "politics" with whatever the poster considers mundane, so arguments about diets, console wars or petty subreddit drama all end with the same king declaring boredom[2]. The humor leans on the gap between the quote's source, a cosmic warlord in gold armor, and the picture, a grinning kid in casual clothes propped on soft drink cases.

Before any dialogue got attached, the Pepsi photo circulated under its own title, "Diabeto, The unmovable," on r/Bossfight[1]. After the Marvel line joined it, posters used the boy as a mock sovereign for any trivial complaint, and later versions put different quotes above the throne pose while keeping the layout intact[5].

## How to Use
A typical Your Politics Bore Me post places the Thanos quote in white caption text above the image of the boy on the Pepsi throne. Many posters replace the word "politics" with the topic they consider trivial, following the common convention of "Your [subject] bore me." The Rise Of The Druids Tumblr template from October 28, 2020, often serves as the blank canvas[4].
