Overview

Deku Fighting Street Tiers is a joke format built around the idea that Izuku "Deku" Midoriya from My Hero Academia only picks fights with low-power "street level" heroes so he can rack up easy wins1. In powerscaling slang, a "street tier" character focuses on local threats and street level crime rather than global or cosmic dangers, and Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Punisher and Black Widow are typical examples2.

The meme portrays Deku as smugly punching down at heroes he outclasses, often with edited screenshots, captioned images and reaction posts sourced from the anime1. A recurring layer of the joke references a 2022 Death Battle! episode where Deku lost to Asta from Black Clover, framing his sudden street tier hunting spree as cope after that earlier defeat1.

How to Use This Meme

Posts in the format typically pair a screenshot of Deku, often looking exhausted or hyped up, with a caption listing street level heroes like Daredevil, Black Widow, Punisher or even joke picks like Word Girl as his next targets8. Common conventions include framing Deku as smug or desperate for wins, mocking the Spider-Man matchup, or referencing the 2022 loss to Asta as the reason he refuses to fight anyone in his own tier1.
