Overview

Eric André is a Florida-born comedian and actor best known for The Eric Andre Show, a chaotic parody talk show on Adult Swim where he screams, wrecks the set, pranks pedestrians and ambushes real celebrity guests1. The show's low-budget public-access aesthetic, blown-out intro sequence and Hannibal Buress as deadpan sidekick gave it a look that fans clipped for reaction images and short-form video3.

Beyond the show itself, André is a recurring meme subject through segments like "Legalize Ranch," "Bird Up" and his in-character guerrilla interviews at events like award shows and the 2016 Republican National Convention6. Reaction GIFs of him screaming, flipping tables or staring blankly at guests get reused on Twitter and Reddit5.
