X, X Everywhere
Published October 8, 2026
X, X Everywhere is a phrasal template built around a contour drawing of Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story 2, where Buzz gestures outward while declaring that some noun is suddenly all around. The format started as a 420chan wordfilter prank in 2007 and grew into one of the longest-running image macro templates on the English-language web.
Overview
The X, X Everywhere macro uses a contour drawing of Buzz Lightyear and Woody lifted from a scene inside Andy's house in Toy Story 21. Buzz throws an arm toward the horizon while Woody looks on with mild alarm, and the two lines of text pin a repeated noun to the top and bottom of the frame to suggest that whatever it names has saturated the environment3.
The tone is flexible. Posters use it to flag a trend they find exciting, to grumble about something that got annoying fast, or just to riff on whatever thread they are in3. Variations swap Buzz and Woody for other characters in the same pointing pose, but the pointing gesture plus duplicated noun is what makes the format readable at a glance.
