Game Rules

Last updated: 28 September 2026

Memescore ("Points") games on meme.com are for entertainment only. This page summarizes how each game works. See our Terms of Service for the full rules governing memescore and games, including the hard limits below.

Some values below are configured per game or per contest. Where we say "currently", that is the value in effect today; it may change for future rounds.

Memescore basics

  • Memescore has no monetary value. It cannot be bought from other users, sold, cashed out or exchanged for money, crypto, tokens, NFTs or anything else of value.
  • Memescore cannot be transferred between users except as a result of a game's own payout rules (for example when a race or a market pays out).
  • Bonus memescore may come bundled with quests or with collecting a digital collectible (for example a soulbound token). These bonuses follow the same rules and have no monetary value.
  • Winnings in every game below are credited when you claim them (races pay out automatically). Payouts are rounded to whole memescore (down, in Best New Memes and races).

Earning memescore

  • Quests. Small, guided tasks (verifying your email, joining our Discord, growing your team, and others) each pay a fixed memescore amount set for that quest.
  • Daily Treasure Hunt. Open a chest once every 24 hours for a randomly weighted reward, currently between 1,000 and 50,000 memescore. The top prize is a rare drop.
  • Verify your email. A one-time memescore reward the first time you add and verify an email address.
  • Learn & Earn. Partner-linked campaigns pay a fixed memescore reward once you complete the campaign. Each wallet, and each account, can claim a given campaign's reward once.
  • Collectible bonus. Minting a campaign-linked collectible (for example a soulbound token) can pay a fixed memescore bonus once the mint is verified on-chain. The exact amount and eligibility are shown on the collectible's own page.

Reward amounts are configured per quest or campaign and may change.

Best New Memes (voting contest)

Vote memescore on the memes you think will get the most votes. Trending memes are added to the contest automatically.

  • Pricing. Each vote on an entry costs a base price (currently 100 memescore) plus a small step for every vote that entry already has (currently 0.10 memescore per existing vote), so early votes are cheaper.
  • Late entries. A meme added once voting in the contest is under way does not start at the base price: its price starts from the contest's median vote count, so its first vote costs about what a vote on a middle-of-the-pack entry costs. This only affects price. Rankings count the votes actually bought.
  • Entry cut-off. New memes stop being added automatically once the contest reaches its entry cut-off, currently the final 48 hours.
  • Grace period. Each entry has a grace period after it is added (currently 8 hours). Normal pricing still applies, but each voter can spend at most a capped amount on that entry during the grace period (currently 50,000 memescore), so one player can't dominate a brand-new entry.
  • Breakout bonus. The first time an entry that is new to this contest reaches 1,000 votes, at any point during the contest, everyone who voted on it during its grace period is paid 50% of what they spent on it during the grace period. It is paid immediately, once per entry. Entries carried over from the previous contest never trigger it.
  • Platform fee. 10% of every vote purchase goes to the platform; the other 90% goes into the prize pool.
  • Winners. When the contest ends, the 3 entries with the most votes win. Entries we have marked as news or controversy rather than a meme, and entries we have hidden, cannot win, and votes on them earn no prize share. If entries tie on votes, the order between them is not defined; we may resolve such ties manually.
  • Prize pool split. The top 3 entries receive 50% / 30% / 20% of the prize pool by rank. Each winning entry's share is split among everyone who voted on it, in proportion to how many votes each voter bought. If fewer than 3 entries have votes, the unused shares are not paid out.
  • Participation bonus. Everyone who voted in the contest gets a flat 10,000 memescore when they claim, whether or not they backed a winner.
  • Anti-snipe. Any vote in the last 10 minutes pushes the deadline back by 10 minutes, up to 36 times (6 hours in total).

Labs prediction games (UP/DOWN, Battles, Meme of the Month)

These are games played with memescore only. No real money is involved, and memescore has no monetary value.

Buy YES or NO shares on a question. Prices are set by an automated market maker (an LMSR curve): the more memescore backs one side, the more that side costs and the cheaper the other side gets.

  • Market types. UP/DOWN: will a coin's market cap be at or above its starting level when the market expires? Battles: which of two coins gains more (in %) by expiry? Meme of the Month: will this meme finish in the top 3 of Know Your Meme's monthly ranking? Markets are currently created by meme.com.
  • Fee. 2.5% on every buy (taken from the amount you put in before shares are bought) and 2.5% on every sell (taken from the proceeds). Fees go to the platform.
  • Positions. You can hold only one side (YES or NO) in a market. You can add to it, or sell your whole position back at the live market price before the market closes (near extreme prices, the sell value is capped at what the position would pay if it won). Buying and selling stop when the market expires. Meme of the Month markets also stop taking new buys while we wait for the results; you can still sell during that time.
  • Ties. If an UP/DOWN coin ends exactly at its starting level, UP (YES) wins. If both coins in a Battle gain exactly the same %, the first-listed coin (YES) wins.
  • Payout. If your side wins, you receive the greater of: (a) what you paid into the position (including fees) plus a share of the memescore staked on the losing side, in proportion to your shares; or (b) what your shares would sell for with the market at 99% for your side. If your side loses, your shares are worth 0.
  • Voided markets. If we void a market (for example because a coin was delisted or the market was set up wrong), every open position is refunded the full amount paid into it, including fees.

Classic prediction games

The older YES/NO prediction cards on the Play page follow slightly different rules:

  • Prices are set by an LMSR curve as above, with no trading fee.
  • You can hold both sides, and sell all or part of your shares at the live price until the market closes. If the sell price moves more than 1% from the price you were shown, the sell is rejected.
  • Some markets cap how much of your memescore balance you can put into them; the cap is shown on the market.
  • When a market resolves, each winning share pays 1 memescore and each losing share pays 0. In a group of related markets, one outcome resolves YES and the rest resolve NO.
  • If a market is cancelled, your shares are paid out at the market's price at the moment it was cancelled (not at what you paid).

Labs races (memecoin race)

Pick coins, back them with memescore, and win if they gain the most.

  • Timing. Each race has a 48-hour pick phase followed by a 5-day (120-hour) race phase. A new race normally starts as soon as the previous one finishes.
  • Drafting a coin. Any player can add a supported coin that isn't in the race yet by paying 50,000 memescore. That amount goes into the pool as the drafter's stake on the coin.
  • Backing a coin. Backing an already-drafted coin costs at least 1,000 memescore per buy-in, during the pick phase only. You can pick up to 3 different coins per race (drafted coins count), with no limit on adding more to a coin you already back.
  • Start of the race. If no coins were drafted when the pick phase ends, the race is cancelled. If only one coin was drafted, the race is cancelled and every stake is refunded. With two or more coins, each coin's market cap is recorded and the race phase begins.
  • Ranking. At the end, coins are ranked by how much their market cap changed (%) during the race phase. A coin we can't get a usable price for counts as 0%. Ties are broken by total memescore staked on the coin (more wins), then by which coin was drafted first.
  • House fee and payout. The house keeps 5% of the total pool. The remaining 95% goes to the top 3 coins: 80% to 1st, 15% to 2nd, 5% to 3rd. Each coin's share is paid to its backers in proportion to their stake on it. If fewer than 3 coins finish, the unused shares are kept by the house.
  • If we have to cancel a race, every buy-in is refunded.

Fair play

Multi-accounting, bots, scripts and any other form of farming, manipulation or abuse of memescore, games, rankings or leaderboards are prohibited under our Terms of Service. Where we reasonably believe these rules were broken we may suspend or close accounts, remove memescore, and correct or void game results.

Changes

We may change, limit, reset or discontinue any game mechanic or reward amount at any time, including to fix errors or stop abuse. The current rules are always the ones on this page and on the page where each game is played.
