Overview

Ash Pedreiro, better known to English speakers as Dat Ash, is an advice animal image macro built around a stylized alt-universe drawing of Pokemon trainer Ash Ketchum wearing a lecherous grin3. The captions turn Pokemon species names into lewd double entendres, with early hits pulling puns from Squirtle, Muk, and Meowth1.

The pedreiro half of the name is Brazilian Portuguese for bricklayer and doubles as slang for construction workers who catcall women passing job sites4. That behavior lines up loosely with the American construction catcall trope, which is part of why the smirking Ash artwork was such a natural fit for the format5.
