He Took a Bite Of a Boneless Wing started as a Zack D. Films TikTok about a customer losing a lawsuit after finding a bone in his 'boneless' order, and blew up when @xonthebeat flipped the audio into a catchy remix in August 2026. The song fueled TikTok dance clips, lip dubs, and Shrek and Backrooms edits across mid-August, quickly powering one of the month's biggest audio trends on the app.

Overview

The meme centers on a TikTok remix by @xonthebeat that pitches Zack D. Films' matter-of-fact narration into a bouncy, sing-song hook, kicking off with the line 'He took a bite of a boneless wing'2. Users pair the audio with dance choreography, lip syncs mouthing the narrator's story, or edit-style videos that cut in unrelated footage such as Shrek clips or scenes from The Backrooms movie34.

The joke rides on the absurd legal reasoning inside the source video, that a 'boneless wing' describes a style of preparation rather than a factual promise of no bones, delivered dead-pan even when the beat gets goofy15. Because the audio is short and the story is self-contained, creators mostly treat it as a plug-and-play soundtrack rather than a strict format, which is why dances, food TikToks, and pure meme edits all fit under the same trend.

On August 7th, 2026, TikToker @zackdfilms92 posted a short explainer titled around the line 'He took a bite of a boneless wing,' walking through the true story of a customer who sued a restaurant after swallowing a bone from a supposedly boneless order and lost because the court treated 'boneless' as a cooking style, not a guarantee1. The clip picked up over 6.3 million views within about a week5.

Four days later, on August 11th, 2026, TikToker @xonthebeat uploaded a remix that flipped Zack's monotone narration into an original song, and that audio pulled more than 950,000 plays in its first week2. The remix, not the source clip, is what creators actually reused, so most later videos in the trend list @xonthebeat's audio rather than the original sound.

How It Spread

With @xonthebeat's remix sitting on TikTok's audio page, creators started stacking clips on top of it through mid-August 20265. On August 14th, TikToker @houstontruman posted a dance video set to the track that pulled over 1.1 million views in four days3. The following day, @https.weezeratdawn.com cut the remix over footage from The Backrooms movie and hit around 745,000 views in three days4.

On August 17th, 2026, @twistcrazyedits synced a clip of Shrek dancing to the beat, and the edit passed 1.2 million views inside a day6. Restaurants got in on it too, including a Wingstop UK post playing directly on the meme's boneless-wing subject7. Between the dance chain, the Shrek edit, and food-brand pickups, the remix crossed from a niche TikTok legal-story clip into a general-purpose audio meme within roughly ten days of @xonthebeat's upload5.

How to Use This Meme

The typical approach is to post a short TikTok using @xonthebeat's remixed audio and pair it with whatever visual gag fits, common conventions include dance routines, lip syncing the narrator's lines, or matching absurd footage (Shrek, Backrooms edits, chicken wing content) to the beat36. Restaurants and food accounts often play off the boneless-wing subject directly, while edit accounts treat it as generic viral audio7.
