Deltarunes Weird Route
Deltarune's Weird Route is a hidden secret playthrough in Deltarune Chapter 2 that has the player freeze enemies with Noelle instead of sparing them, ending with her using the SnowGrave attack to kill Berdly. Fans also call it the Snowgrave Route, Pipis Route, or Genocide Route, and it became a major meme source after Chapter 2's release in September 2021.
Overview
The Weird Route is a hidden path in the free RPG Deltarune Chapter 2, unlocked by having Noelle freeze enemies with her IceShock spell rather than defeating or sparing them1. The route locks in permanently once the player casts SnowGrave, a fatal ice attack Noelle uses on her friend Berdly during a mandatory fight4. It skips large chunks of the castle area, replaces normal encounters with bomb-like objects called "Pipis" that explode with Spamton's face, and forces Kris to face Spamton NEO alone in place of the normal Queen boss fight1.
Nicknames stack up quickly: Snowgrave Route, Pipis Route, Command Route, or Genocide Route4. The Snowgrave name comes from the point-of-no-return spell, and the alternate Genocide Route tag nods to the equivalent path in Toby Fox's earlier game Undertale1. Getting on the route requires precise dialogue picks, equipping the Freeze Ring from the shopkeeper, buying the Thorn Ring from Spamton for 1997 Kromer, and building Kris's TP to max before the Berdly fight1.
